I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to go to a couple of the EMHs in the evening. Based on what I have read on these boards, they are super busy with very long lines. Is that the case for all of the parks? We love the morning EMHs. We are going in November. THANKS!

We have always been morning EMH lovers, even enjoyed the E-NIghts at the beginning.....but evening EMH are a nightmare. You can do a ride right at 9pm but after that the lines are well over 1 hr long and usually the fast passes are gone in just a few minutes. We have never experience a MK when we were able to get any fast passes. :confused3

I have done EMH in March and June and this summer was worse then the one at Easter. Personally I don't think it is worth the time and agrivation..

We did just one EMH in June...the 24th, a Friday night in MK. It was hugely crowded. Tons of people. But dd really wanted to be able to be in MK really late at night. We did do some stuff though. Just not the headliner attractions. We did find that if you went to the park that had EMH the previous night, you would find lesser crowds. Especially true for MK and Studios.

We tried the evening EMH at the Studios last month and it was a horror. We were fortunate to overhear a CM tell someone that they reopen the Fast Pass machines for the evening EMH. We grabbed FP for TOT right away. When we got off the next FP return time was a LONG time away and the stand by line was crazy. We checked the wait board and everything had really long waits so we just left. Mornings (EMH or not) are better at all the parks. We rode with little or no wait at Splash and Big Thunder early in the morning. We go to see Mickey's Philharmagic one Thursday morning with about six other people. Definitely get to the parks early and forget the evening EMH.

We did evening EMH at the Magic Kingdom back the first week in April. It was great being in the parks at night - we were there from 10 - 11 I'd say. However, it was much busier that we expected - even at that hour on a not too busy week. We were just in Fantasyland, and fast pass was open for Peter Pan and Winne the Pooh - at a minimum. Lines were long though - we wanted to try Dumbo but the line was like it was during the day.

I think if you can get up early for the morning EMH, you're in better shape - however with my family, after the first day that wasn't an option!

I'm a little nervous about trying them in August, but like goofy4tink, my kids want to do it. So I've got three of them planned in (the AK one is only 5-8, and that's one I want to do. I want to live in AK, in the temple with the monkeys! LOL!). Hopefuly we can survive a few of them, and if they are crazy crowded, we'll just leave.

We were there from 7/6 - 15 and did EMH every evening we could. The crowds are bigger than they were for e-night, but much smaller than during the day. We had to wait, on average, 10 to 15 min. for MK rides, a bit more at the other parks. I think it depends on the park, how many rides there are. The more rides available, the thinner the crowds. The lines for Soarin' never let up, but it's worth the wait.

Overall, we were happy with evening EMH......

what do you think it'll be like at the end of September with the special dining plan running?

very crowded, crowded, moderate, low attendance?

thanks so much

Last year we went and was pleasantly surprised at the low attendance. However, with the popularity of free dining, not too sure. Usually the attendance is low and I would assume (praying anyway) that it will be moderate, but I will plan on being in the park early. Most of my dinner PS are for 5:30 to 6:30pm to be able to take advantage of the evening hours.

We did the evening EMH at MK this past Friday 7/22/05, with mixed results. I guess I had been spoiled by the E-ride Magic nights last year, so I was a little disappointed about how crowded the park was. I enjoyed it for the most part, but DW says "Never again". I would say it takes about all three hours of evening EMH to do as much as you can do in the one hour of morning EMH.

In general, I would say to make sure you do the super-headliners earlier in the day at park opening or using fast pass. Space & Splash Mtns. were just as packed as they are at 2 PM. We balked the first time we got in the Splash Mountain line and hopped over the ropes to do something else. The wait for BTMR wasn't too bad, but right when we made the last turn in the cue they closed the ride. They said it was closed indefinitly, but we were welcome to stay in line - we left to do something else.

The positives were that it wasn't as hot as it is earlier in the day and most of the lines are much shorter. We basically walked onto with no wait: Haunted Mansion, Stitch, Pirates, Magic Carpets of Aladin, and then Splash Mountain when we got back in line at 1:55 AM. It also seemed a little less crowded than normal at park opening. I think most of the guests who could park hop started their day at other parks and waited to the evening to go to MK. We started at MK until about 1 PM, hopped to AK until it closed at 6 PM. Then we went back to POR for nap/swim. We tried to get back to MK in time for Wishes, but we just caught it from the bus unloading area.

We did it with MK one night in May and walked on everything over and over again - I had no idea that most EMH's were crowded! However, it was on an evening following a couple of hours of storms, so I think most people were scared away - maybe? So for us, it was awesome as we did every single attraction at MK in those 3 hours and never even visited the MK again on that trip.

When we go again in Oct, our plan is to at least try them out - it's not goign to hurt to hop over and see how the crowds are. Since nothing else is open anyways, we can always leave and do something else.

My family really enjoyed evening EMH at AK -- not because of the number of attractions we visited (Kali and ITTBAB only) but because we noticed the theming so much more. AK is gorgeous at night!!
