I have rented to strangers in the past and will do so in the future. I am somewhat concerned by the other post, so I will probably add a clause to my rental contract that covers expenses. If a renter somehow skips out on his/her charges I will have some legal recourse to collect if I am forced to pay. However ... I think that chances of that happening are very small so it really doesn't worry me.

We needed to see it. There is a lot of liability involved and unless you are prepared to accept it, and not fight it, since we are liable, then only we each can evaluate our own exposure. I never let anyone drive my vehicle (any more) either. Been there, done that, paid the price. Another, registered owner, issue.
