Have you been to Rita's Ice?

I love Mango and Raspberry.

I love plain water ice, I'm not into gelatos or anything like that, but you can get them there.

My dd likes the green apple.

The flavors change all the time, so even if you like one thing it doesn't mean they will have it the next time you come and if something is on the board at say 4pm, if you went back at 9pm it might be sold out and done for the night.

I enjoy going there though, good day for it in this heat!

Have fun!!!

Oh yea. I'm pretty sure it originated around here. My mom worked in Allentown, PA and she took us to (what we thought was) the only one at the time. Now we have one in our backyard. I'm getting better at exercising restraint though.

May I suggest a gelati? It's a good starter item :rotfl2: . I'm personally fond of Mango. If you choose to take it on the road, a Misto Shake is a gelati just all smoothied together.

If you have picky kids, like me, who only want vanilla ice cream :confused3 , they can get a custard. This is the stuff they add to the gelati. Faaaaarrrrrr better than plain old ice cream.

Dang, now I'm thinking of Ritas.

Sorry about the double post. Dang busy server.

I usually like just a blueberry ice, but I made a mistake and ordered a "blueberry misty thingy" last time I was there and ended up with a blueberry Misto. YUMMY!

I'll definitely be having that again.

Rita's another thing I miss about PA (but had not thought of recently) - it was a weekly summer treat! I know there are franchises in FL, just not in the Orlando area,

The first Rita's was in Bensalem, PA.

OMG, I'm eating Kiwi Strawberry ice right now. I bought a quart and brought it home the other day. I love, love, love their custard. My girls and I go to Rita's twice/week.

My favorite ices are Kiwi Strawberry and Fudge Brownie.

My two favorite flavors of ice are vanilla and root beer...yummy! Unfortunately they seem to sell out early all the time, so I usually call ahead to the 3 Rita's close by and see who has the flavor I want. If I know ahead of time, I'll call the day before and have them save a quart of the flavor I want-it's that good :teeth:

Ritas is yummy! I like fruity flavors the best. My kids gravitate toward chocolate when possible.

Enjoy!

I love the gelati-- vanilla custard and chocolate ice. YUM!

:rotfl: I do the same thing if I'm going for ice. They always run out of the Fudge Brownie ice real quick. If I'm just going for custard, I'll go to one in particular because they make them bigger and put more sprinkles on than the other one in my area. :rotfl:

I like the lemon Misto shakes--it's custard and gelati mixed together. Very good! I also like mango, but it's sweeter. We don't have one real close, but there are 3 of them about 1/2 away in different directions. We don't get there often, though. I heard one was opening closer, but I keep checking their website and haven't seen it listed on there.

We go to Rita's every Friday night! We always get the large gelati made with chocolate ice and vanilla custard. Yummy!

I like the fruity flavors too. I tried the mint chocolate chip and it was too weird for me. I don't get how you can make that stuff into "ice" and not ice cream. :confused3 Just not the same.

I got the Black Cherry Misto...wow, delicious!!

Funny: the kid serving us the ice said "The no sugar one doesn't taste as crappy as it used to." Well, give me some of that then!!!! :lmao:

My local Rita's seems to serve the same flavors all the time. So, I find it hard to find my personal favorite, which is Pina Colado gelati. I love this stuff. The water ice has chunks of pineapple and coconut. Delish!!

The Oreo Cookies & Cream Gelati was my favorite, but they have not had it for two seasons now. We went last weekend and all the ice flavors were YUCK so I just had a custard, which is not the worst thing of course, but still...I WANT MY COOKIES & CREAM!!!!!
