Thanks, Angel! I'm not usually this dizzy, but my brain seems to have stayed in FL. this time - just can't get back into the rhythm of real life! I think we missed the peak of our fall foliage while we were at WDW. We've had some lovely weather, but a couple of windstorms have left more leaves on the ground than on the trees. I grew up in Hinsdale, not too far from your hometown.
It was harder than I expected having my in-laws join us midway through the trip. We both feel as though we had 3 short vacations strung together. It was not very relaxing doing it this way, and we probably will advise people to join us at the beginning or end of future trips. DH told me to tear up our APs so we wouldn't be tempted to sneak in one more trip before the expiration!
Highlights of the trip included:
reconnecting with all the wonderful CMs at Poly concierge
celebrating my birthday (and, yes, wearing the pin all day) and enjoying it thoroughly. I'm thinking I'll have to celebrate all future b-days in WDW! Being greeted with a smile and cheerful birthday wishes by practically every CM and even some guests. The awesome grilled wahoo w/rock shrimp and sage butter, served over pumpkin risotto at Narcoossee's and the yummy carmel chocolate dome the waitress brought for my birthday - my new favorite Disney dessert!
the man who asked our launch driver, yall goin to the Pomeranian?
In need of some quiet time, ditching my DH and in-laws at MGM on Saturday and heading back to the Poly for some solo relaxation. Decided to take a monorail ride around the resort loop and possibly do a little shopping - ended up with a solo front car ride with monorail pilot Patrick - a close runner-up to our favorite monorail pilot!
My birthday gift from DH - a black cashmere v-neck with vintage Tink imprint and flowers down the bell sleeves
Getting a surprise preview of Stitch's Great Escape at MK on Monday - cute, but not worth the 30 min. wait. It's pretty much the same thing as Extra-Terrorestrial but with Stitch theming.
MNSSHP twice - once because the in-laws really wanted to go and having Auntie Bellum, the storyteller, pick on DH the whole time. I love seeing him turn red!
The best part: Knowing we're going back in 5 weeks!
