Nuts! We only had one small group of trick or treaters last night. We bought 6 bags of candy! I'm going to have to bring it to work so I don't eat it all, LOL! :teeth:

Just popping in to say hi.

Glad to see everyone had a great Halloween. We NEVER get trick or treaters since we live in such a rural area. I take DS into a nice neighborhood close to where we work just to trick or treat - LOL! He was Harry Potter - pics coming soon! I even put black hair spray in his hair to give a final touch. He made a pretty good Harry Potter if I say so myself, but it was odd to see black hair since he's a blondie.

Fred - Thanks for sharing the pics of your little cuties. They are precious!

Want to talk about costumes - mine was easy since I was Martha Stewart's Parole Officer!!! :earseek: We had a blast at work on Friday and took home First Place in department theme judging. First time in YEARS that has happened so it was cool. You get lunch on the company for winning. Yes, I work for a nice company that enjoys having fun. The child care center across the street comes over and trick or treats in our building as well. So I get my fill of all the adorable monsters, ghosts, princesses, super heroes that way.

Well, it's back to reality and trying to stay away from all those treats which has proved to be an undertaking in itself. I'll try to catch you guys a little later.

:wave2:

I'm very excited and got an outstanding rate! If anyone has any advice or tips, they would be greatly appreciated. This is our first time on a concierge level!

One question though, do the rooms at the YC concierge level have fridges?

Thanks for your help! :bounce:

Only a dozen trick-or-treaters here and over 200 pieces of candy purchased based on last year's turnout - guess my co-workers will be cheating on their WW plans!

Finally caught up with all the posts (kind of, anyways).
CONGRATULATIONS! TO BT on the King Kamehameha Suite (totally understand about your DH - captainconcierge is probably NEVER going to leave the Poly!) for the marathon! and to storybookmum on your achievements at work and your DSS's All-State achievement.
CONGRATULATIONS! to mmausse on the success of your fundraiser. We were happy with our results as well, but I'm glad I don't have to do it again for a while! Ours raised funds for an organiztion that produces educational materials for grades 3-12 teaching respect and tolerance.

Fred your princesses are lovely - they must have been quite the hit yesterday!

sfbank prayers and PD coming your way for excellent results at the neurologist.

I apologize to anyone I've missed - please consider yourselves congratulated, prayed for and welcomed even though I am too scatterbrained to keep it all straight!

No trip report this time (already starting the planning for the December trip) but I'll post highlights in a bit. Came down with bad sinusitis (as usual) and was better for 2 days; now I have some sort of throat crud. Also working every day (that's where I am now which is why I have time to post!) as a co-worker took off to be with her daughter in PA. during spinal surgery. Her daughter is pregnant and they hoped to hold off on the surgery until after delivery, but the tumor was so large it was causing too many complications.

TaurusSES_Sport - Welcome to the lounge! I saw your other post, but thought I'd try to answer you here. I requested a fridge when I stayed concierge. I'm not sure if they are standard issue as of yet, but you will not be charged for one if you do request it.

If you have any other questions on YC CL, don't be shy to post them here. :teeth:

Donna, Oh I Love your post! I cannot tell you how many times I have felt this way and never put it into words. Sometimes I just feel  and know I am not remembering everyone and saying everything I wanted to. Thank you

So you live in Berwyn, Illinois. I’m from Villa Park, born at Elmhust hospital and lived in Villa Park for 21 years. How is your autumn this year? I really do miss the autumns back in the mid-west. They are so very beautiful.

We had “a lot” of tick-or-treaters. We turned off the lights and locked the door at 8:30 PM, because we had ran out of candy. I had 4 large Costco bags of good stuff too. Glad I don’t have to bring any leftovers to work..

Tausus_sport - Welcome to the lounge. I know you will get all the information you need on YC CL :chat:

Ok guys, I’m setting out rice cakes and hot tea for those of us who over indulged on the weekend.;)

Have a great day!

Angel

I wanta go back to AKL

Thanks, Angel! I'm not usually this dizzy, but my brain seems to have stayed in FL. this time - just can't get back into the rhythm of real life! I think we missed the peak of our fall foliage while we were at WDW. We've had some lovely weather, but a couple of windstorms have left more leaves on the ground than on the trees. I grew up in Hinsdale, not too far from your hometown.

It was harder than I expected having my in-laws join us midway through the trip. We both feel as though we had 3 short vacations strung together. It was not very relaxing doing it this way, and we probably will advise people to join us at the beginning or end of future trips. DH told me to tear up our APs so we wouldn't be tempted to sneak in one more trip before the expiration!

Highlights of the trip included:
reconnecting with all the wonderful CMs at Poly concierge

celebrating my birthday (and, yes, wearing the pin all day) and enjoying it thoroughly. I'm thinking I'll have to celebrate all future b-days in WDW! Being greeted with a smile and cheerful birthday wishes by practically every CM and even some guests. The awesome grilled wahoo w/rock shrimp and sage butter, served over pumpkin risotto at Narcoossee's and the yummy carmel chocolate dome the waitress brought for my birthday - my new favorite Disney dessert!

the man who asked our launch driver, “y’all goin’ to the Pomeranian?”

In need of some quiet time, ditching my DH and in-laws at MGM on Saturday and heading back to the Poly for some solo relaxation. Decided to take a monorail ride around the resort loop and possibly do a little shopping - ended up with a solo front car ride with monorail pilot Patrick - a close runner-up to our favorite monorail pilot!

My birthday gift from DH - a black cashmere v-neck with vintage Tink imprint and flowers down the bell sleeves

Getting a surprise preview of Stitch's Great Escape at MK on Monday - cute, but not worth the 30 min. wait. It's pretty much the same thing as Extra-Terrorestrial but with Stitch theming.

MNSSHP twice - once because the in-laws really wanted to go and having Auntie Bellum, the storyteller, pick on DH the whole time. I love seeing him turn red!

The best part: Knowing we're going back in 5 weeks!

:bitelip: I may be able to pull off the most incredible surprise for my family. As you guys all know, I've planned a pre-Christmas trip to WDW and so far, have not spilled the beans to my family. I had also mentioned that my oldest DD is away at college and I just couldn't work the vacation around her schedule. Well, I just got her final exam dates today and her last one is in the morning on December 11th. I've already looked at flight information and there's a possibility that I can have her at the Yacht Club by late afternoon. I just fired off an e-mail to Amy because I don't even know if the Yacht Club concierge rooms will hold 5 people and I need to see if there are still tickets available for MVMCP on 12/12. I'm actually shaking a little bit right now. This would be amazing. DD is going to check with her professor to see if she can do that final a day early and maybe even get into Orlando on the 10th. Crossing all my fingers and toes.....

Tammi

Majestic,

Yes, very cute little girls. :D

We had about 2 dozen trick or treaters. We really missed the Halloween Party at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Can't wait for them to open next week.

Have a great week. We are off tomorrow to Panama City Beach for Ironman Florida.

steveanddonna,

Thanks for the report on the Stitch ride. We thought about going to the parks over our Christmas vacation at AKL so the kids could experience the ride. I think maybe we'll wait.

:boat:  :rotfl: ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!

Tammi I can feel your excitement!! I just know you're going to get your DD there!!:Pinkbounc

Majestic - your girls are precious! That baby's the cutest thing I've ever seen!princess:

steveanddonna MAJOR PD for your co-worker's daughter! That sounds sooo scary:(

Have a good evening Lizards and Happy Election Day tomorrow!!

:teeth: :scared1:

WOW...I've been MIA and didn't realize BT had finished my Clippie.

BT...I LOVE it...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tammi....sounds like you have a plan! The rooms will sleep five, providing your kids don't mind sharing, the daybed is generally fought over in our family.

Steveandonna...sounds like you had a wonderful birthday...how nice!

Majestic....your little ones are adorable....keep them safe!

VAGAL - I was in your neck of the woods today. Rte 29 in Charlottesville had MAJOR roadwork and so my GPS system took me thru Louisa - very pretty area, and y'all seem to be having as much fun with the "fall" foliage as we are. Emphasis on "fall".

Well Gang I had my knee re-evaluated one more time. The results are in and they aren't great. The shots didn't work at all. In fact, they made my knee worse. There are no more choices left to me other than total knee replacement. I have to get evaluated next week by ANOTHER doctor that's in charge of replacement parts. My God, it sounds like a bad ad for "Logan's Run" (the old sci-fi movie)! I'm told that I'll be in the hospital for 5 days and then moved to a rehab hospital for another 1-2 weeks then I'll have to have someone come to my house for 2-3 weeks after that. Minimum rehab time is 5 months. At least, that's what they tell me now, I'll know more next week. I don't have any other options, either get this done or stop walking completely. I'll keep y'all informed.

Don't know if I'll be at the lizard meet in May:( .

Good morning lizards! This darn new time has me up with the chickens! Bach!

mmause - So sorry to hear about you knee results. If it's any consolation, I know two people who have had total replacements and they now feel great. PD and P to you!:wizard:

Tammi - Hooray! I hope it all works out - you are a great mom and Disney planner extraordinaire!

floridafam - Your Christmas plans at AKL sound wonderful. Say hi to Panama City - my folks winter near there and I usually get down there every year for a visit.

steveanddonna - Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great trip - I think I'll have to add Narcoossee's to the must-try list (yum!) Isn't it nice to know you're returning so soon? DH and I leave in 4 weeks for our anniversary trip!

TaurusSES_Sport - Welcome to the LL - you will love YC!

BT - Looking forward to you new online store. You are one bundle of energy!

sfbank - PD and P to you!:wizard:

I would like to repeat everything Minniesota said so well, and add one word.

VOTE!

Have a wonderful day, LLs!
Debbie

Good Morning Loungers.

Been out of the loop for awhile, but I am glad to hear that everyone had a happy and safe Halloween.

minniesota I am up with the chickens as well...except my chickens come in the form of three little boys who think that if there is the tiniest 'smidge' of light outside, it is time to be up.

steveanddonna Welcome back. Glad to hear you had a great trip, better yet, glad to see you are headed back!!

tammi Best of luck getting your DD in to Orlando. I know it will work out. I have been watching your posts and know that you have been working your tail off to make this a spectacular vacation. Your family is lucky to have you.

Well, lizards, I need your help. We are going to take another trip to the world in May and I don't know where we should stay. (Dont you just love planning two trips at once) My husband is a Navy Pilot so we can get a great rate at SOG, but it is not my first choice. We will also have friends joining us this trip. DF's husband and wife and DF's DS1. Our DF will be returning from 6 month deployment in April, so this should be a special trip. My DF mentioned staying at SOG. aaarrggghhh.

Should I make ressies at SOG and another resort and hope for good AP rates in May? If so, which resorts? I would like to try AKL, but what are my chances of getting good code there? Can we get adjoining rooms at AKL or any other deluxe for that matter. I prefer CR and YC for room size (we are 2 adults and DSs 7,5,2) Oh, this is agony. Please give any advice you can.

Have a great day and get out there and VOTE!!!

mmausse: I am so sorry to hear about your knee. Sending prayers your way. Take care.

mmausse, I am so sorry to hear that the shots didn't help your knee at all. If replacement is the only way to help you not be in pain, then it sounds like the right thing to do.

Everybody remember to vote!
