For those Florida people who didn't see the game. It ended in the third OT with Michigan getting the TD and the 2 point conversion. *going to wallow in pity, but glad that I didn't make the Disney bet!*

AHHHH I can't believe I forgot to put in writing about SBM's great work news! See? You made it through the day shift with flying colors!

Hello Late Night Lounge Lizards!

My event is over and it was a RESOUNDING SUCCESS! Only 2 cancellations and we raised over $1500 for education of higher eduication for women and scholarships for young girls! I am SO glad I bought my house as it was definitely built for entertaining! The weather was perfect, about 79º, and other than an early-morning fog that was so thick you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, it was a perfect day. What it was even better was that some of the women came in costume, so it gave a more "fun" atmosphere to the day. The food was great and my "demonstration/lesson" was informative as well as entertaining (or, at least, that's what they told me afterwards!)
I handed out Halloween goofy bags to all the women in attendance - as adults we don't get to trick-or-treat and I thought this was appropriate - I filled them with candies from our youth (Clark Bars, wax lips, halloween lollipops, eyeball gum that bled (ok, so a little gory), Ghiradelli chocolate for the more sophisticated adult palette, oh and of course, Disney Villain Nestle crunch bars! Everyone seemed to enjoy the bags and especially the lips. Within minutes of opening the bags, everyone had taken out the lips and we all looked rather silly with these big red wax lips on (that also were kazoos - I didn't know this when I bought them)!

Now, I am so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. I have to get up early Monday morning - it's back to the orthopod for more tests. My knee seems so have taken 10 steps backward in the "recovery" phase. So I'll see what my next "step" is.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

DD will be DUMBO...her absolute favorite!!! She requests the movie a thousand times a day and sleeps with the stuffed Dumbo she picked out at the GF gift shop last May!!! And, there's not too many things cuter than hearing a 2 yr. old sing all the words to "Baby Mine"

DS will be Thomas the tank engine (of course)! He lives and breathes Thomas. It is the first word he mutters when he gets me up in the morning!!! (BTW, finally figured out why this cough has gone on for almost five weeks).....Took him to the dr. yesterday. He has walking pneumonia!!! They switched his antibiotic and prescribed an inhaler. Since there's no fever, we'll try to get out with his costume on today!!!!

storybookmum.... CONGRATULATIONS on your stepson's news. How fantastic!!!!

Tammi... I can't thank you enough for your advice about the GF vs. CR. We will definitely be taking the deluxe room at GF for Christmas. Can't wait to have that wine in the evenings while listening to the live Christmas music!!! I really appreciate your opinions.....they made my decision for me!!!!

Mmause>> Sounds like all your planning was a success! Congrats on a great night! I know your money will go to a good cause. I hope your knee starts feeling better so you can jump back on that road to recovery! I do love the idea of those goodie bags! I haven't seen wax lips in ages! What fun!

All the costumes sound beautiful! DS has been something scary/gory for years now. I get my cute fix by passing out candy and seeing all the costumes on the little guys! Last year was one of the few warm years and it was so nice to see the costumes w/o winter coats!


Adding almond joy, reeses, and M&M's to the candy supply in the lounge.

I have a little giraffe and a flying unicorn, both of whom will be out EVER SO BRIEFLY because they have chesty coughs, and anyway, Meredith's allergic to most of the treats, and I can't have that stuff in the house!!!!

If any lizards can, post pics of your little ones in their costumes. They are always so cute to see! I remember what a BIG DEAL Halloween was as a kid. What fun it was! We're all stocked with about 5 bags of candy (we won't need that much, I am just paranoid about running out--we don't want to be the awful people who ran out of candy, every kid's worst nightmare, LOL!). I think we're going to watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown later today to get into the Halloween mood.

It is raining here!!Yuck.
DS is out in the rain with his friends dressed as a dead football player. He has the bruses from yesterdays game for a realistic effect. If it does not stop raining soon I will have alot of candy left over. Not good for counting WW points!!

Halloween is officially over. We live in one of those small towns where the tornado siren signals the begining and end of trick-or-treating. My favorite costume were three hockey players on strike, complete with signs! We had 470 at last count. Don't ask me how much I spend on candy every year! I hope everyone has a safe and happy night!
