Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

I knew I was going to check and see all of you telling me to stay at the BWI.

I already made the switch to AKL.

Here's why: The Sunrise Safari on Christmas Day. I've already reserved our spots.

Something to look at from the room. There was no guarantee what our view would be from BWI.

We've already stayed near the BWI and done and Illuminations Cruise.

Andrea said they have a lot of activities at the resort over the holidays.

Was I an idiot to give up that great rate?

mmausse,

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Floridafam - Definitely a tough call on AKL vs BWI. Though you do have a great rate at BWI, if you've been waiting to do AKL and don't mind paying more I'd go for it. You guys will really like safari. I can't wait to go back just to do sunrise safari. I did Wayama (Sunset) safari last June and loved it. I don't think you'll regret spending Christmas there since you'll have a dose of BWI before you go. :teeth:

Floridafam
:bounce: Sunrise Safari on Christmas Day!! :bounce:
Unbelieveable:teeth:
I love BWI and it would've been great but I secretly wanted you to pick AKL:cool: When are you checking in? We are there Dec. 17-22!
CONGRATULATIONS!

We are checking in on the 24th-unless DH doesn't have to work that day, then we will check in on the 23rd.

I guess we will miss you.

I know I made the right decision. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a Florida Resident Rate some other time soon.

I felt bad because Amy in the IPO office for the BWI is so helpful and such a pleasure to deal with.

After the Sunrise Safari, the kids and I can rest or check out the AK while DH watches the basketball game. He can still go over to the ESPN club if he wants.

We will probably have to make our dining arrangements soon. Where do you all think we should eat Christmas Day? Jiko, Boma or private dining in our room?

The best part is it's only a 2 hour drive now instead of 2 days! :D :hyper:

I was just wowed by the Grand Floridian RPC concierge. They are super efficient and detailed. That's what I love. I had a million little requests, purchases, spa treatments, decorations, etc. I was even concerned to send them all in an email and I thought some could slip by the staff. Within 15 minutes, the details were covered. We have a couple of special situations to consider during our trip and they've taken care of everything. I hope this level of service continues throughout the vacation. But for now? I'm pleased. Even though everything is done, they still said they would contact me several more times to make sure everything goes as planned. Thought those of you considering a GF RPC vacation would like to know.

Floridafam - I'm so happy for you! Did you get my PM about booking the safari? I ask because I'm not getting new PMs, had an email that my box was full. However I emptied half of it and still am not getting the PM that was held up.

My opinion on the Christmas dinner - I would not go for private dining in the room because it probably will be crazy that day and there's too many chances it won't go right. I'd book Jiko asap. If your family prefers to have a lot of time in the park, then Boma would be quicker. Either way, what a wonderful Christmas.

I will miss meeting you as we depart on the 20th. I'll try not to drink all the Bailey's. ;)

You can drink all the Bailey's you want. I can't have any with the little one on the way and DH is training for an Ironman so he can't have any, either.:D So, live it up!

Yes, I did get your PM. Thanks. I already have the Safari booked.

I'm sure we will spend minimal time at AK on Christmas. I want to spend as much time at the lodge as we can.

I'm still trying to come up with an idea for what to do Christmas night. Any suggestions?

I will probabaly book Jiko soon. Thanks for the info.

Definitely book Jiko so that you don't have to get up and down with your dear children 20 times to go to the buffet:teeth: Especially in your delicate stateprincess:
I am so happy for you:wave:

Liz,

My "delicate state":D I like that. I wish I could get my DH to refer to that more often. This is our 3rd child and I think he thinks everything just works itself out and a baby will just magically appear in April.

I think we will go with Jiko.

Thanks everyone!

I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go;) ;) . Everyone's trips sound SO fabulous! I know I am going thru Disney withdrawal and I have to wait until May. WAH!

If my typing is a "little" off for the next few weeks, please be patient - it's hard to type without my thumb. I thought I was lucky re: the accident, airbags popped, knee no worse than before, but have had a lot of pain in right thumb. At PT they looked at it & sent me to docs - the doc thinks my hand someone got twisted between airbag or slammed on steering wheel but dislocated thumb at base, so now in metal thumby splint. Am trying to have a good outlook on life right now - need to be careful not to poke anybody, or I'll bruise them. Hitchhiking is out, needless to say:earseek: . I think I could be the poster child for ice - the narcotic-free pain reliever.:teeth:

Sorry didn't call you back BT - haven't figured out how to hold phone w/o breaking it. Back to PT manana. Oh joy:rolleyes:

As for the Baileys suggestions, I wish!!

Does anyone know if florists other than the WDW florist can deliver to Disney Resorts? I just don't see what I'd like on the WDW florist site.

Thanks

Just a quick hello to say HI to everyone who is posting again! I miss everyone here, but have been fighting a head/throat thing and it is winning. Haven't missed any work, and I won't! School is to hectic right now to miss a day! *I'll explain more later when I know the final answer*

Debbie, I have counter envy! Only 2 weeks until you visit the Mouse! ::MickeyMo

Hi all!

I have a rate of $380.00 per night (pre-tax) at the Poly LVC for 7 nights - 11/29/04 through 12/6/04. Should I hope for something better or just relax with what I have. I do not have any type of package, just a postcard rate. Let me know!

Thanks,

Pat

Debbie - You need to blast the cold bug out of your system...you have a mouse to visit :hyper: :teeth: !

Pattymouse - First, hello to you! I think that is a good rate. I'm pretty sure the rack rate is about $600 a night if not a little more. I hope you enjoy the Poly! :wave2:

P.S. - Pattymouse - Happy Anniversary to you!

Hey Lizards,

I am so excited. I figured out how to load pictures on Ofoto.com, but how do I share them with you? Someone please let me know.

I do have a question for you lizards. Was it ever decided to do a lizard meet and what time of year to do it? Inquiring minds want to know as I'm planning to make my ressies.
