Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

ead79 - I have seen your pictures and read your trip report - fabulous! I am really torn between the garden suites and deluxe concierge room. The suites are so spacious and quiet looking but I love a balcony! I've read that there are 3 suites with balconies - did you see these? The deluxe room appeals to me because of the balcony, view and proximity to the lounge. Normally I would just stay 2 nights in each place but DH kind of wants to stay put since it's only 4 nights. What's a new lizard to do???

What's a new lizard to do???

Why...she'd look at the BWI room floorplans and the garden suite pics of a garden suite with a BALCONY posted by BT!;)

There are three garden suites with HUGE balconies and they are larger than the ones that elisabeth stayed on her honeymoon. Trade off is that they have no "garden and white picket fence".

floridafam and VAgal!!!!!:grouphug: so good to see you both!:wave2: :wave2:

Leaving out a huge spread of our favorite muffins, croissants, breads, cereals, and smoothies.
Coffee machine has been cleaned and is ON!:sunny:

so sorry to "post and run"!
I'll check in later!

BT - Oh, wow!! You are the CL diva!! That is exactly what I was looking for - it's so magical in this lounge! Did you specifically request the balcony suite? It looks so spacious - the whole suite looks perfect! Now that I know we'll be at BWI CL (in one room or another), should I contact the planning office? Anyone in partcular? I think we'd like to do the CP package and have a couple romantic dinners. And of course, I'd love to spend some time in that gorgeous lounge. I think this might help me convert DH! Thank you for your help!

I need advice, again.:teeth:

We currently have a BWI CL room booked for Christmas.

There is a garden suite available.

Is it too far of a walk from the garden suites to the lounge for a pregnant woman and 2 kids? Will I wish we were near the lounge?

What are the deluxe concierge rooms like at the BWI? Is it 2 beds and a daybed, much like the rooms at the Yacht Club?

Is it true that there are 3 garden suites with only balconies? Where is the entrance to these suites? Is there also a balcony upstairs?

Amy has already arranged for a tree and stockings from the Disney Florist.

DH said last night that he's glad we'll be near the ESPN club because there is a basketball game on Christmas Day.

Thanks in advance for any info you're able to provide.

floridafam - It looks like you and I are in the same boat- only with different passengers, LOL. Here is a thread that might help with the deluxe cl room:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=633502&highlight=+BWI++deluxe++concierge

Not sure if I did that right, hope so! From what I've been able to figure out the deluxe CL room sounds better for you. Two queens and a queen sofa sleeper - I think I read 660 square feet - and you would be close to that lounge for the kids. Hey, girl, you're pregnant - make life easy on yourself and just slip down the hall for those late night cravings. Good luck with your decision!

Note to self-do not purchase any drums until we are leaving to go home:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
You wouldn't even need a wake up call though
:rockband: :rockband:

For what its worth, here is my 2 cents.

floridafam - Not sure how "far along" you will be during your trip, but I agree with minniesota. You will probably enjoy being close to the lounge and that Deluxe Concierge room looks very spacious, so the kids will not be right underfoot. And you and DH could watch TV or talk once the kids are in bed, and not disturb them! Did you check out the floor plans BT posted?

Now minniesota - If its romance you are looking for, I think those BWI Garden Suites are just the thing. You have your own private place, with lots of space. And when you need it the lounge is just a short walk away.

Now for us, we will have to get a standard room, since both the deluxe and garden suites only sleep 4 and are a family of 5. :sad1:

Speaking of drums. I am taking my son to sign up for band tonight and he has decided to take up percussion! So where can we (DW and I) get those earplugs. DDs are both in the band playing the saxaphone and clarinet respectively. :rockband: :rockband: :rockband:

GoofyJoofy The deluxe rooms sleep 6. There are 2 queen beds and a queen sleep sofa. They are very roomy.

GoofyJoofy - I know, I know. The garden suite does look romantic but I so love a balcony!!! I'm going to work on DH tonight and see if he'll split the stay between both room types. That way my curiosity will be squelched and I can report back to the LL with my findings.

Both DD and DH are in percussion. We have a full mirimba, snare drum and complete drum set in our lower level. Talk to me about drums!!!

minniesota, just as BT posted, there are some garden suites with balconies instead of gardens/picket fences. They still have exterior entrances, so it wouldn't solve your walk to the lounge, but you could keep the room layout of a garden suite that way. Plus, I would imagine that those garden suites with balconies overlook the quiet pool area, which is very pretty. :)

Thanks for the info everyone.

I will try to see if there is a deluxe room available.

Also, does anyone know if there will be a Sunrise Safari at AKL on Christmas Day?

I have thought about switching over to AKL.

I also received an e-mail from the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island. You should see what they are doing for the holidays. I am really tempted to go there as they have an indoor pool. The Ritz Club Levels are wonderful!

Santa is going to parachute in on Thanksgiving and you can have Santa tuck your kids in around the holidays.

Decisions, decisions!

I just took a look at BT's floor plans.

Is a Concierge Deluxe Room the same as a Concierge Deluxe Suite at the BWI?

I thought the deluxe rooms had 2 queens and a daybed all in the same room.

Thanks for the help.

I read that Santa visits AKL on Christmas Eve. Is this true?

 Nice to see you're willing to "take one for the team" minniesota!

floridafam - BT's floor plan is a deluxe suite which I think is different than the deluxe CL room. My understanding is that the deluxe room has 2 queens or a king and an alcove with a sleeper sofa and armoire/tv, etc. Hope that's right!

johnsonet - Yeah, it's a tough job but somebody has to do it, right? My goal is to convert DH. I may start the subliminal tapes tonight after he falls asleep. "You love Disneyworld...you want to visit many, many times..you especially love concierge...you want to try all of the lounges with your lovely wife, the lounge lizard...now sleep, sleep, sleep..."

I received my planner by email from the Polynesian today. Anyone know if there is a CD of the Polynesian's music or the Luau's music available for sale? I asked Marilyn for arrival gift ideas for my sons. (fingers crossed)

KerryCM It's so good to "see" you!!
:wave2:

minniesota-:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I think I need to do this too!
johnsonet-thanks for the idea of getting some gifts for my children-I e-mailed GF today and they said they would be more than happy to do this for me-so I just need to think of some things for my kids. I also heard from Alana today at the BC-again, she is so awesome. She said my elevator key is already on the way, and she also took care of a little something special in the room for my DH B-Day. I also e-mailed GF about my dilemma with my room-the first night I have LV and then the next four nights I'm in SugarLoaf-they said they would ask the room assigner to have me possibly be in the same room my entire stay-WooHOO. Keep your fingers crossed for me fellow LL. I wouldn't mind paying for the upgrade I just don't want to move 3 times during my stay because we're also moving to the BC. Phew-where are those cordials and choc. covered strawberries.....

KerryCM - ACK :earseek: I was just speaking based on the floor plans that BambiTamby posted. Now that I read the other comments, I see it was a floor plan for a King Deluxe Concierge Suite. So sorry I mis-informed :worship: :confused3

Just saved $300 on my airfare for the Dec. trip. SWA had a new Internet deal and I was able to convert. WooHoo :thewave:
