Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Each of the Deluxe resorts has a concierge level. Some of these resorts have 2 concierge levels. The list is:

Grand Floridian: full concierge in Main building (RPC or Royal Palm Club) and light concierge in Sugar Loaf building

Contemporary: Full concierge on 14th floor, concierge light on the 12th floor

Polynesian: Full concierge

Wilderness Lodge: Full concierge

Beach Club: Full concierge

Yacht Club: Full concierge

Board Walk Inn: Full concierge

Animal Kingdom Lodge: Full concierge

I realize this thread is VERY large, but there are people here that have experienced several of these concierge offerings, and between all the posts, each resort and its concierge has been discussed.

You can also find information on each resorts FAQ thread withing this forum. You may have to search if there has not been a recent posting for that resort.

If you have specific questions, please ask. We are a friendly group that loves to share our experiences and opinions.

And by the way Welcome to the Lounge!

Oh yeah, I forgot the Swan and the Dolphin as was pointed out by johnsonet.

In the past two weeks, I've read the entire 150 page first liz thread and the 146 pages of this thread. Occasionally, I would detour to another thread or a photo album mentioned in the lounge. I would love to join the countdown party. In November, I'll be in GF RPC for 5 nights, BCV for 3 nights, Disney cruse and then end with Poly LVC for 2 nights. I just emailed GF and Poly for last minute arrangements and surprises. I made the priority seatings myself in advance. Although I like to keep my thumb on details, I'm going to try to relax and let the capable CMs work their magic. I put up a counter as soon as I figure it out!

DisneyNotes That's a LOT of reading!!

What an awesome trip you have planned!

Let me be the first to welcome youprincess:

This is an awesome thread - full of Luxury Lovers and Disney Fanatics! What more could you ask for:teeth:

Thanks for the welcome. How do I start my counter? I am looking for a technical help, but haven't spotted it, yet.

I have been so busy this weekend. Whew.

GoofyJ Squeeze bottle Baileys. Over here!!!

GJ, DF, CD, BT, #1Hockey and Johnset Thank you so much for the

DisneyNotes Welcome to the thread. 150 + 149 pages. Wow. :worship: :worship: :worship:

Guess who doesn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get the pirate cruise? That's right. It would be me.:jumping4: :cool2:

#1Hockey I glanced over at the other thread just to see your crime photos..  ::yes:: pirate: :rotfl: :rotfl: :cheer2: Just loved them DF Thanks for posting them. You have really great pics.

Nitey, nite.

I'm squeezing the Baileys for my nightcap....

A BIG - Good morning to all! It's been so long and I've missed each and every one of you. I don't know if I'll be able to do catch up reading or not with this crazy schedule (hopefully Disneynotes will give me a copy of the notes and highlights;) ) so if you're going on a trip in the near future - "I would love to hear about it," if you just came back - "Welcome back!", if you are about to leave "Have a great time" and if you have a long way to go like me "Well, let's live vicariously through others!" :teeth:

If you are new to the thread, a warm welcome to you! If you are in need of a hug, prayer or PD - times 2!

I do have concierge question. Does the GF SL building have a 2 bedroom suite that faces MK? Are the views in the SL building nice?

I also would like your opinion on suites. If you had to decide to do a suite at only one resort which resort would you choose? AKL or GF? This may be a no brainer for some, but I'm so torn on this.

If your preference is GF, would go with the a suite in SL or go completely RPC? I don't think we are going to be in the lounge in the evenings to enjoy the evening offerings on the 2nd half of our trip at GF since we are focusing on long evenings at MK. So I was thinking of saving some dough and going with SL. Am I headed in the wrong direction on this? How difficult is it to get the 2 bdrm suite in SL building?

BTW, I am definitely taking MIL & SIL with us this trip. I already spilled the beans and they are so excited! MIL is contemplating spa treatment, but she's a little shy. SIL is all for surf lessons. Maybe I'll actually get to do a cruise after all.....:p

I appreciate your thoughts, opinions and fun ideas. I can't wait to hear from you guys!:wave2:

There is a 2 bedroom suite available at Sugar Loaf, but none of the views from there are of the Magic Kingdom. I believe from the suite, you'll overlook the marina and Sago Cay. You might want to double check with the resort, because I think at the GF, any suite you book comes with concierge service. If the view is that important, then a suite in Sago Cay or Conch Key would probably be much better.

Hello VAgal!!! Long time no see! We've missed you around here, and I hope you and your family are doing well.

I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC.......
May I use your mantra but substitute CR? I want to finish our quest around the monorail and CR 14th floor is the last stop. After AKL CL this month I have some concerns continuing the monorail quest. I just added two days on to our Dec trip for CR but now I am really worried that nothing will live up to the true service of AKL CL. I was psyched if hesitant when I made the reservations however I'm now skitish. Blast you AKL CL! Okay - focus - focus. We are currently CR 14th, BCV and then the cruise.

Elizabeth - I've sure missed you guys, too! Nevertheless, after dealing with all this chaos lately I've had very little time to do anything. In fact, sometimes I had to squeeze in breathing! I kept saying to myself, I'm going to get myself past this so I can relax disney style. It gives me great joy planning our family's vacation - surprises, resorts, dining, etc.

Suites..I must try a suite....

I need a massage, must have a massage...

I can smell the AKL - aaahhhh, heaven!

WELCOME!!~Very impressive...to READ the entire 150+ pages!! (Should be a hazing requirement for ALL new prospective LL's!!).

What a FAB itinerary...*(Which Cruise are you taking?), it all sounds PERFECT!! I hope you are able to obtain lots of helpful info on this thread, it is overflowing with generous, kind~hearted & experienced souls just waiting to assist!! ::yes:: Enjoy!!

Steffy ~Glad you liked the pics!! (*Did you see #1HM's antics?!...next photos: she'll be RIDING the ANKOLE FAMILY across the AK savannah!! LOL). :teeth: I may have to save those for N. Geographic! :p MORE  to you, Steff!!

VAgal76~:wave2: So good to SEE you!:hyper: Since you asked, here is my 2 cents (on todays market...it's worth MUCH MORE!):
*I have not stayed at AKL...but HAVE enjoyed GF RPC...and would never hesitate to do this again. The views are astounding, and as Tammi pointed out, they are not available in SL. I too...MUST have a view of the MK whenever I am in the POLY, CR, or GF! Otherwise, I may as well be in any other resort!! In fact, it would be a no-brainer. RPC (IMHO) is simply the BEST.
*I know BT LOVED the AKL suite...and will be able to offer her opinion and perspective on this one!
*DO THE DISNEY CRUISE!!
*SPA TREATMENT w/MIL...YES! You could acclimate/ease-in together by calling TAMARA and scheduling a nice Pedi/Mani in your suite!!
*~*Whatever you decide, I KNOW you'll have a wonderful time!! ::yes::

johnsonet~Oh, How I WISH you would have joined us for TEA and POOL HIJINX!! We could have made some more memories, and taken some great pics! We have to try and get us all together....:p

Bella2000~Wow...AKL CL must truly be pulling all the punches!! I HAVE to book a visit soon! I KNOW you'll LOVE the CR 14th Fl, so no worries there. ;) Yes...use the MANTRA, I believe it works!! Especially when sipping some baileys, and nibbling something created in the patisserie!!

BT~Hope you are taking time to rejuventate and RELAX during this busy time. I am completely harried with DD's SENIOR year! There is SO much going on, (Senior pictures, Cap/Gown and Invites/Announcements, COLLEGE, etc.). In the midst of all of this...she and I are flying to London/Paris for 2+weeks the end of November. The Airline tickets arrived this am, *(VA Upper deck suites)...and now I must CONFIRM all the suites, etc. :hyper: I'm doing it this week, so it's DONE!
Thank goodness we have passports...and everything else we need. I wish DH was going, (feel safer) but we'll have a great time together. DD has no trepidation about going alone with me, and is VERY excited about the trip! She loves the fact she can actually partake of the french champagne served in first class, as she's 17 (legal age for alcohol consumption aboard Virgin Atlantic!). She's not a drinker, but it will be a BIG DEAL to toast (legally) with me as we begin our journey together!::yes:: The Limo is also an option for us, as it is included in the airfare. DH wants to drive us to/from LAX...so we'll only need it in London. I have a trip planned for San Francisco in Oct., and another for Vegas the end of this month. I also have a trip to Monterey, Lake Arrowhead and San Francisco reserved before the end of the year! I'll be VERY BUSY!! I think I'm postponing the L. Arrowhead for the first week of January...as I'll be too tired to enjoy it!!

{{HUGS to ALL}}

We are taking the 4 night Wonder cruise-Nov 21-25. We leave the ship Thanksgiving day and head to the Poly and the luau for our Thanksgiving dinner.

I have already learned so much from this thread. Thanks to all for the details. I emailed GF and Poly yesterday, but haven't received a reply.

Anyone have suggestions on arrival gifts for my teenage sons? I've got my 9yo covered with Pal Mickey. (by the way, does he still talk at home or is he only fun in the parks?)

Steffy,

I agree, any place at WDW will be special for the holidays. It looks like we are going to try BWI CL.

I have already spoken with Amy in the IPO office and she was wonderful, as usual. The IPO staff for BW/YC/BC really put the WL CL IPO staff to shame (sorry to say.)

Does anyone have any great things I should know about BWI CL?

Thanks in advance.

DisneyNotes:
How about a certificate good for unlimited Water Mouse rentals from the Poly dock? (does Poly offer the "Family Plan" for recreation???) Having 3 younger brothers, I know this would have been a dream come true for them!:teeth:
Also, I got Pal Mickey for myself in April and really love him. To be honest, I don't use him at home much but you CAN. He plays trivia games with you...He's so soft and cute::MickeyMo

I was really blown away by BWI CL in July. Alana in IPO helped me with in-room gifts and she was absolutely wonderful!
Pete at The Innkeepers Club was one of the most fantastic CMs I've ever met:D
I would recommend asking for a room close to the Lounge. We had a garden view and could see the "Eiffel Tower" in WS. It was lovely.
The CL there is very professional, very "on the ball" in my limited experience there. I cannot WAIT to go back. It is very top-notch. The BWI is beautiful, awesome location, great decor and I just LOVED it! The Lounge is very handsome and I was impressed with the food offerings! I think spending Christmas there will be a DREAM! :cloud9:
Have no fear of special requests when dealing w/ BWI IPO!!:teeth: princess:
:wave2:

That would have been a great arrival idea (boat rental certificates) and I should have saved that, BUT I have already mentioned that we'd get them the unlimited package. They are dying to try out the new boats. (It's been 2 years since we've stayed in the GF.)

Thanks for the info on Pal Mickey. He is worth it just for the parks, but now that I know he'll talk at home, that's even better!

Does anyone have experience with asking the CMs to watch and deliver daily gifts to the kids when they are in the room? I think it would be more fun to have someone ask for them at the room door or stop them as they go by the concierge desk. It would shake up the routine a little. If that won't work, then I'll just have them placed in the room during the day.

johnsonet,

Thanks so much!

I am amazed by the IPO staff for the Epcot resorts. They are amazing!

I'm sure we will have a wonderful time.

I was told they have standard and deluxe rooms. The only available was a standard. I was also told that we could request water/boardwalk view.

Are some of the CL rooms far from the lounge?

We are looking forward to a lot of relaxation. At first, I was sad that WL was not available because the theming fits so well with Christmas. Now, I'm looking forward to trying something new.

There was a garden suite available but I'm not sure I would like being that far from the lounge?

Has anyone stayed in any of the suites at BWI?

Thanks!:D
