Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Ok, I did find it and actually it was one of the people I thought it was. JANET2K had the pictures of the tree in the suite at AKL. I just found the post pretaining to it. In the post she says she did not order it but it was in the 1 bedroom suite she was in at AKL. This was a 5-6 foot tree not a 3 foot tree. I also saw the prices for the 5-6 foot tree were quoted as over $500.

The picture referance on the thread, is not working.

So, Calling Janet2k....... Can you post any pictures of your AKL tree for Johnsonet?

Thanks!

I contacted concierge at CR re: gifts for kids in the room. They told me to contact Disney Florist. But, what I wanted was more stuff from the parks... not various basket items.. what should I do? Maybe I need to be specific in what I want?

Honestly, besides the PS's that they made, I haven't seen much "special" treatment from concierge. I hope that I will once I get there!

I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the GF RPC, I need to experience the AKL CL at Christmas, I need to experience the AKL CL at Christmas, I need to experience the AKL CL at Christmas.......

Hey BambiTamby you never finished saying your mantra....
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Really, hearing people talk about their favorite resorts at the holidays, it is hard to say where I would want to be. They all sound so wonderful.

All this talk of room surprises is making me want to do something-this trip is to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I have already purchased surprises for the kids but I was thinking maybe I should order some chocolate covered strawberries. Anyone know how much they are? Would 1 per person be enough?

I can't help you, Bambi, as I crashed and burned trying to try a new resort this July! Once again, the S/D and AKL won in the battle of my emotions!

BT--

I can't remember how many days your Dec trip is but ours is 5 nights and we have 3 akl with family and 1 nt GF RPC followed by 1 nt 14th fl CR. Renee is our planner for GF and CR and she has been wonderful so far. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't even be thinking of CR so I say try something new. We LOVED our honeymoon at GF RPC (although it was 7 years ago!) We are really looking forward to returning even if it is only for a night. Besides, who is going to take all those fabulous pictures of the GF lounge? My husband pretends not to know me when I do it, so you must step up!

Enjoy your weekends!

BambiTamby, don't worry at all about trying GF RPC. I stayed there for the first half of my honeymoon last December, and we don't have anything but good things to say about the RPC. I know that there are the occasional bad reviews on this board (and there were tons of bad reviews in the year leading up to my wedding, so I was really worried), but our experience was very, very positive. The pre-planning staff was very prompt and helpful, as was the desk staff. They even greeted us by name (and I know they remembered it because the reservation was in my maiden name and they greeted us by our new married last name). I was so worried that they wouldn't be friendly or I would get horrible service. I didn't encounter any of that at all. Our room was also beautiful, and the lounge is a magnificent area to listen to the orchestra in the evenings. I do think you need to give it a try! :)

hey lovesdumbo - check out this menu from Deb's:
Beach/Yacht In-Room Dinning
Scroll to the bottom and check out Champagne Toast or The Main Mouse
I did not see an in-room dinning for the Poly.
I am pretty sure the BC IPO told me I could order just the strawberries, but I don't remember the cost. The chocolate covering makes the strawberries look like they are wearing a tuxedo.

Here's a picture of the Main Mouse that GoofyJoofy posted about above:

Hello everyone!~Sorry I have not been over here to the lounge as often as I should, but I'll TRY to be BETTER!!In the meantime, If you would like to see some of the antics of the SISTERS this past July, take a peek at the little photo montage posted on the Swan/Dolphin or Sorority thread! Our own #1Hockeymom NEARLY got ARRESTED by the dreaded POOL POLICE for her TOWEL-NABBING, POOL-HOPPING and RUNNING AMUCK WAYS!! Lots of Fun! :teeth:

BambiTamby...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you SWEETIE!! You deserve the best in life...so KEEP on STRIVING and PLANNING to live the life of your DREAMS! MAGIC HAPPENS...TO THOSE WHOM MAKE IT!

XOXOXO Always, DF99 :wave2:

I am innocent! It was the champagne! I mean I am innocent! Suffice to say, we had a lot of fun at the expense of some of the more heated threads on the boards! I don't know who has the picture, but even Pal Mickey was seen using a lounge chair at a resort where he wasn't even a guest!

Hi Bambi and DH Sorry I'm late with my best wishes. Hope you enjoyed your day. And had a successful show.

Floridafam Anywhere in WDW is perfect for Christmas. :thewave: I'm hoping the Poly will be the perfect place for me.

Someone asked us December people about not being home for the holidays. That's why I'm taking my family with me. My extended family is all over the country, so for the most part, we just say Merry Christmas on the phone.... :hyper:

My Mom died two years ago and my SIL's very young step-Mother dropped dead 10 days before Christmas the same year. I have not put up a tree since. I'm hoping this year, we can bring the celebration and joyfullness back into the holiday season. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :lovestruc

So this is my plan. Pirate cruise and Adventures in Cooking for DGD. Birthday party at Chef Mickey's. RPDE for SIL. Concierge for me..... Family Magic Tour for all. (it's a surprise) Kona coffee for my DD ... princess:

So I will be trying VERY hard to have myself a Merry Little Christmas down with my favorite Mouse. We will see. For us, this will probably be our last December trip. I think we'll go back to May..... :chat: princess:

:rotfl::laughing: I'm laughing so hard!!! Has to be part "Debbie and DF are a HOOT" and "BT is so tired she's looney"!!!

Thanks for the GF RPC reassurances, elisabeth!
Yes!lindeyspol.... BT HAS to go and stay there and TAKE 100 pictures of everything and post it here!:p
It's a hard job, but SOMEONE has to do it! LOL!;)

Goofy Joofy...we had those dipped strawberries two nights at the BC CL!
Maybe that is something that is "hit or miss" but they were awesome!:cloud9:

lovesdumbo...just my humble opinion, but you NEED more than one of those strawberries!:earboy2:

We usually got back to the lounge late at night and many of the desserts were pretty much wiped out. In fact we usually had to squeeze the bottle of Bailey's to get any. :earseek:

 for Steffy. Prayers and PD

Debbie....Uh huh...that's what they all say! And...trying to bring poor, little, innocent PAL MICKEY into this scenario...does not take the spotlight off of YOU!! (LOL) XOXO :p

Steffy I wish you a wonderful holiday season as well - what a great way to answer the question about being away from home during Christmas...
dreamflight you are a riot! I really enjoyed your photos - and that was the day we arrived at GF!! Wish we'd seen y'all frolicking...:earseek:
debbie you are too cute - love the pic of you and your DD - -she looks just like you (don't you love when people say that?):teeth:
I can't believe I'm now under 90 days!!princess: Hope AKL IPO can get CRT for DD and meprincess: princess: (fingers crossed!)
Have a happy day everyone. I'm getting ready to get on my hands and knees and scrub my bathroom floors! And DD just gave me a makeover so I look like something off a horror show:earseek: Hope I don't have to answer the door this afternoon!
:wave2:

Is there some where in this thread that lists all the resorts that have a concierge service or floor? I have only enjoyed the concierge service at GF and Poly. I would like to see a thread that compares the different experiences. Or is that information already in a post? Mark

Mark: I believe this is all of the resorts that offer concierge level rooms (and they are the Deluxe resorts):
Wilderness Lodge
Contemporary
Grand Floridian
Poly
Beach Club
Yacht Club
Boardwalk Inn
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Swan
Dolphin
added: Yes... from allearsnet.com: "The Disney hotels that offer concierge are now all the Deluxe Resorts (Beach and Yacht Club, Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge). Some of the resorts such as the Grand Floridian and Contemporary offer more than one level of concierge service too"
