Good evening Lizards:teeth:

Wanted to bump up this thread and also ask for some advice. For those of you who have had in-room gifts waiting when you checked in, what is something fabulous I could do for my DD? She just turned 8 and is a seasoned Disney traveler:teeth: :earsgirl:

In July, Alana helped me to have a Snow White costume waiting for DD and a Cinderella costume for DN(6) - also wigs:rolleyes: at BWI CLThey already wanted these items so it was a "no-brainer" - and they totally freaked out!!:earseek:

This trip I want to do something special as well. It is our first Christmastime visit and I think that calls for something extra special, don't you? We are staying at AKL CL and I am just so excited - I have to "block out" that it's 3 months away:crazy:

I am hoping AKL IPO will get CRT for us and it will be a surprise for my daughter; also, I am surprising her with My Perfectly Princess Tea Party princess:
What else would be fun? We will be doing the Sunrise Safari - our second time - and my daughter knows about that one!
What do you all think about the "Mouseketree" from Disney Florist?http://www.disneyflorist.com/produc...stmasTree&catalog_website_id=&index_id=custom
Also, for those of you who've been to AKL recently (I was there in April but my brain is shot!) what would be something fun for an 8-y-o girl from Zawadi Marketplace?
Thanks for any input! I appreciate it:wave2:

Liz, I'm very seriously considering the Disney tree for our December trip. I e-mailed the florist to find out what the personalization option is and what the hidden prize choices are. So far I haven't heard back, but I'll post when I do get more information.

:cool1: I cannot believe how much fun I am having planning this vacation. I know that I can attribute that to The Dis and all you wonderful people. I have learned so much and met some truly caring and compassionate people in the process. Today I made a reservation for the night we arrive at Pop. Got a great rate of $55.00 including tax with the e-mail pin #. Great idea, thank you Debbie (HockeyMom).

We will be staying at Pop, ALK and Shades of Green. Gosh. Six months ago I would have never dreamt it. I have ordered a gift basket from the Disney Florist, it is a bucket of beer, chips, salsa and fruit and cheese to be delivered to my DH on our anniversary. I have purchased different pillow gifts for him. Everything from special Disney pins, a stuffy of his favorite character Timon and a silver bracelet he has been wanting. I booked the Sunset safari as a surprise. All these ideas came from The Dis. Thank you.

EAD 79 Thank you for the Pop pictures. They really finalized my decision. I know we will enjoy our stay there.

Tnkrbell Have a fantastic vacation. Remember it isn’t the quantity; it is the quality of time. I am sure you will bring back many memories. Is this your first time staying BC CL? Be sure to give us a trip report when you get back.

Storybookmum I am sorry that your discounts have not come in. “Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” :fish: :fish: They will show up. I have been able to find 2 of my additional 4 days calling at all different hours. The last time I called 1 hour after being told they didn’t have anything, and low and behold, there was a pin code discount available. The CM last night said to try calling right before they close at 11:00 PM. Tonight I will try that.

#1 Hockeymom I sent you a pm.

You all have a good afternoon. I think I will grab some fresh fruit on my way out. :D

Angel TAKE A LOOK AT MY COUNT DOWN CLOCK :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

If you want to go totally insane, there are great drums and simple musical instruments at Zawadi! So far I have steered DS away from them, but I know my time is coming! LOL They have a great "cheap" jewelry area, but that is better picked out in person. Of course, no store would be complete without Disney plush!

Angel>> Didn't get the PM, but I cleaned out my PM box just in case that was the reason. So glad you have your plans in order! I still haven't been on the sunset safari but it sounds glorious by everyone who has reported on it from here!

I am loving reading about everyone's concierge plans coming together! I will live vicariously through the board until our next concierge trip. Yes, I've been spoiled and I LOVE IT! I do think we'll love this quick trip to POP. With only two of us in the room and a few days it is the perfect combination!

Have a great evening, everyone!
Debbie

'Night, lizards...

Steffy , you're exuberant! Glad to see you on :cloud9:

Angel, thanks for the encouragement. I keep calling, not giving up on the discounts. Never would have persisted like this before these boards. Your anniversary munchie gift and assorted pillow gifts and surprises sounds like a blast, I'm glad for you!

johnsonet, does the marketplace have any exotic bead kits for gifts? Those are always a hit, and it would be nice to have something very unusual. WOW on the Princess tea party. I'm sure my girls would just love that, but I had to draw the line somewhere, and that was it...still, I'm eager to hear from you how it goes. It would be more for me than my DDs anyway; Aurora's MY favourite princess, *S*

Got an email from Don at AKL tonight, actually a batch of three, with my last priority seatings. NOW what do I do for the next two and a half months?

:hyper:

I bought Caroline a new Cinderella dress, and a friend is making Meredith a Tinkerbell costume...I'm making a list of must-try things like getting picked in the parade, and waking Tinkerbell up...but everything else is icing on what's already looking like a wonderful cake. All I want to do is get there and take a million pictures of my happy family.

Have a wonderful night, all!

Kris

(grabbing a hot drink and pouring some brandy in it - I'm sick, it's medincal)

Kris, those costumes sound adorable. Those kids are so lucky.

Which restaurants did you book and which one are you most excited about?

:cat:

Just swinging by the lounge to grab a latte and a slice of cake!:teeth:

Looks like everyone is planning away! Lots of great ideas!
that Christmas tree idea sounds good, never done that one!::yes::

Oh, yes! storybookmum......

DEBBIE! You are BRILLIANT See!? This is why I love this board so much!:teeth: My daughter LOVES those drums and always heads right for them (as does every child, it seems;) ) I am going to have one waiting in the room:Pinkbounc :bounce: She will be in Heaven! Thank you, thank you:teeth: :wave2:

Angel I love all your plans. You are very festive, like me;) The planning is really my favorite part, I confess:teeth:

Kris How old is Meredith? Has your friend already begun making the costume? My DD has a very gently used Tink costume which I would be happy to send to you for your DD. I believe it is a Small (she wore it at age 5, I believe) Let me know:earsgirl:

Hope everyone has a good day:sunny:

Anyone in the lounge this morning? Are you still sipping a latte johnsonet ? I need help (and my family would agree)! The long weekend with DH the first weekend in Dec. is shaping up. I have the last 2 nights at AKL CL - so we can R and R (not rock and roll - well, who knows?) but am stuck on the first 2 nights. I really would like to try BWI since we've been to YC and BC. But alas, no CL for those 2 nights, not even a room to be had! So I now have a 1B at BWV reserved (got it with a discount). My dilemma (and how spoiled am I!):

Stay with the 1B at BWV
Keep obsessing about BWI CL and call endlessly
Go with CL at YC (garden) or BC (water)

And that folks is my story! Help me finish it PLEASE...

Hey! Yes, I am still here:teeth: On my third skinny cap:crazy:
I would stick with concierge princess: Keep trying for BWI CL because it is soooo worth it!! I would book YC CL if you can - or BC CL. I haven't stayed at YC or BC but have certainly read wonderful things... Definitely keep trying for BWI CL. It is FAN-tastic:cool: You will get it!

CONCIERGE OR BUST!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We've stayed YC CL and absolutely loved it! BT has been to BC CL - this time we are staying BWI CL Yippee!!!

Only 23 more sleeps!!

minniesota - I would book either the YC CL or BC CL for now, so you have something. Then keep calling, calling, calling for the BWI CL.

That way if BWI does not open up, at least you will have a great Epcot resort. All three resorts (YC, BC, BWI) share the same pre-planning IPO staff, so no problem there.

We loved the BC, my only issue is that not all the rooms have balconies large enough to sit on. Some rooms have a balcony that is only big enough for 1 person to stand on.

You can go to the DZ DisneyZone and select resorts, then look at the YC and BC floor plans to get an idea of where the possible water views and garden views are.

Good luck

minniesota-I would book BC CL (water view)-have you seen BT's photos? Then keep trying for BWI CL since that is what you really want. You didn't say if BWI 1BR was water or garden? I stayed in a garden view studio and had a great view of the parking lot. I would much prefer water view CL at BC over that! And we've heard lots of great things about BC CL from Mr & Mrs Goofy & BT! I just LOVE WDW in Dec. How fun for you to be planning a Dec trip!

johnsonet-when I first started reading you post about needed ideas I immediately thought of a Christmas tree and then read that you were already thinking about that. I think that would be perfect! Maybe you could bring a set of special lights to hang in your room somewhere too? How about a Mickey Santa cap for DD. They must make those? What a great trip! I was thinking of doing that tea party with DD(5 1/2) but may just do a "regular" tea with her & DD(20 months) next year.

I just ordered an infant Tink costume and Captain Hook hat for DH from Disney yesterday. I had to get my CC straightned out first-they put a hold on it after I spent $1,900 at the Disney store buying AP's and Peter Pan toys. I figured I better buy my AP's now so that I can get the Disney rewards for our trip! I was going to have Dsis make Tinkerbell because I didn't like the long sleeves on the Disney one but the infant one has short sleeves. I'm making DS Peter Pan and now Dsis is helping me make Wendy for oldest DD. I'll figure out something for me for a pirate. I'm so excited to go to our first MNSSHP! I also have Sleeping Beauty (thanks to KerryCM) for oldest DD for Norway breakfast and she may want to wear that one on Halloween at home and of course for general dress up. Plan on bringing her Cindy dress for 1900 dinner and just last night bought the baby a 2 piece Cindy sweat suit (under $10 at Walmart) for baby for dinner. I had thought about getting her a Disney store dress for dinner but decided that could be real messy! This planning really is so much fun. Now I've got to start working on my mousekeeping envelopes and CM cards. And activity pages for the kids. And I may start packing soon! But right now I really MUST get to work! Can I grab one of those medicinal drinks on the way out? Guess I better come back tonight to get one!

:wave2: Hello, Lounge Lizards!

Like everyone else here, I love reading about everyone's plans. From the arrival gifts, to the quest for a new resort, to the last minute AP trips, it helps pass the time until my next adventure! Plus, it helps me "get to know" each one of you wonderful folks!

I've been corresponding with Melissa at the Poly IPO, and she has been a huge help. She has contacted the GF Bakery about getting a small replica of our wedding cake made for us for our 1st anniversary. It won't be our actual anniversary while we're there, but we're going to celebrate it anyway--we can't go to the World during our anniversary because of my husband's school schedule. I'll let you know what the bakery says once I hear something in case any of you want to do this for your anniversaries. :)

Liz, that's so sweet of you! Meredith's turned three in June, she's in size three clothing now, but wears a lot of Caroline's hand-me-down fives because they shrink, don't they? And I bought her size four shorts and ts for the parks (they're going to be in matching clothes most of the time, so save me headaches!)...I would guess that a small costume would work, though, because length wouldn't be an issue. I think it would probably work admirably, thank you! I'll PM you...(btw...drums! You have courage, woman!)

Lovesdumbo, I'm sure I remember reading that you can buy Mickey santa hats, it was on the thread for the MVMCP, I think...they said to buy them early or they disappeared....the costume plan sounds adorable - sign me up for the Aurora dress! I hesitated over the costumes at the meals, too, but have decided to go for it, because they'll get so much more attention that way!

BambiTamby, I'm afraid you're right....tinker, tinker, tinker...and my family chittering in the background, "Are you on the computer AGAIN????"

And on that note, since I'm starting days off here, it's time to look around the lounge (oh drat, no, the house!) and note that it's gone to seed. Laundry, cleaning, and general housework before we sink into the foundations...7 midnight shifts and we fall apart, here. Also time to get Caroline moving to actually get some schoolwork done! (we homeschool...)

More later!

Kris

It is official! I booked the flights! We're going to DISNEY WORLD!

Liz>> I think those instruments are really giant magnets! DS always heads straight to that section, even if we are just doing a walk through! Even DD had to check it out when she was there with us this summer! You could also get her enough small wooden animals to play tic- tac -toe in the room.

Big wave to all!
Debbie

I thought the sweat suit was a nice "compromise". I think I'll have to find her a Cindy T-shirt in case its too hot for that. I bought my girls a few matching t's too and my friend from FL will be joining us with her DD(5) for the weekend so I bought her one of the T's too. I also bought all 3 girls matching Luau Mickey dresses for Ohanas. DS has a Mickey Hawaian shirt that I can't admit how much I paid for it. It was too cold to wear in Jan. But is soooo cute. Mickey & Donald vintage ice cream wrappers. I bought DS new Disney Ts too so he won't feel too left out. I bought him a couple of orange ones so we can spot him quick!

I think I better start packing so I can review all the stuff I bought when the Disney Store was having all those great sales this summer.....but I really MUST get to work! So hard to concentrate when you've got Disney on the brain!

quick HELLO and  and :grouphug: to all in the lounge!

minniesota...I've stayed at all the Epcot concierges.
You can NOT go wrong with any of them, believe me!::yes::

In case you've missed my photo links click here
I have all the Epcot CL's on my webshots page.

GoofyJoofy!!!!!Man-O-man!!!!! You are getting to be a true lounge expert. ITA with all your advice you've been giving here on the boards!
Keep us the good work, buddy!:wave2:

Well, I better go before I get that ""Are you on the computer AGAIN????"" especially with this huge show on Saturday! :earseek:

Lots of goodies on the sideboards and mango-passionfruit smoothies!
enjoy!!!
