Good morning everyone!:sunny: It feels so good to be back!!!! I am doing more and more each day and I wanted to thank all of you for all of your well wishes.

BT Your pictures are just beautiful. What a wonderful time you must have had.

I am beginning to get into my full speed ahead planning mode now. I love this part. Alana has been most patient with me. We are going to do a Playhouse Disney basket for Madyson and a goodie basket to welcome Carri's parents to the world of concierge!!:)
I think Jimmy and Carri are going to have their anniversary dinner at Narcooses. I have never been, what do you all think? If they do that I will order a mini wedding cake for them.

My new window traetments are being installed today, so off to supervise Jim in taking the old ones down. Everyone have a great day!

Kerry-How great to see you! I was thinking of you as I drove to work this morning. Take it easy!

BT-GF vs BC? So DH wants to be on monorail for marathon. It starts at epcot? Can he really ride the monorail that early-don't they start "hearding" them around 4:30 in the am? I would think BC-close to Epcot would be just as easy and that one has the whirlpool tub? I think I'd pick BC because Epcot is the park open late at night that time of year-so nice to just stroll home.

BTW-If I go to the May lizard meet I will NOT be telling DH I am meeting internet friends. He'll think I've completely lost my mind. I'll just be going to Disney with a friend to celebrate my birthday. :cake:

BT...I was thinking GF just because of these ease of transportation. (Plus it doesn't hurt to be nice to your DH:teeth: )

LovesDumbo...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ....about this comment...when I was going meet BT and SteveandDonna for the mini-meet, one of the teenagers traveling with us was very CONCERNED that I was going meet people I had met on the internet...kept asking who should we notify if you don't return...etc.:teeth:

Others just do not understand the magic of the DIS boards!

KerryCM...glad to see you back on the boards!!!!

Ok...I have lost my mind and am trying to squeeze in a trip to the world the week before Christmas (I really HATE that AP rates came out...makes me crazy wanting to go again)...I am trying to convince my sister and a neice (13 and never been!) to share a room with us...will stay at POFQ or PC (Cheap, quick trip)...unfortunately, the airfare will cost more than the hotel...but will keep working on numbers!)

Have a great afternoon all!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this thread, but I love reading all the info! :teeth: DH and I will be celebrating our 2 yr. wedding anniversary @ GF/SL in Dec., do you have any recommendations for us as far as requesting specific rooms?

We're SO excited! THANKS!:sunny:

cajunfan--

I am in the process of looking at airfare for my brother and his wife to join us. are you anywhere close to Knoxville? I ask b/c independence air is introducing nonstops to orlando from there for travel through Jan 15th. The rate is $39 each way!!! You do have to book by the 27th so not much notice but GREAT fares! Hope this helps!

Lisa

Queenie You will love GF. It's so beautiful!
I would stress to the Itinerary Planner that you are celebrating your anniversary and that you'd like a QUIET room! We were in a 1-BR suite in Sugar Loaf in '99 and it was so LOUD (outside)! Our room overlooked the "quiet" pool and the pathway to the boat dock and other lodge buildings. Hopefully they will put you on the Marina side at the end near the lagoon. Good luck and Congrats:D

Thanks Liz! I've emailed the planners last week and their response was so quick! I mentioned to them we'll be celebrating our anniversary, hopefully they made a note of it. I will most likely email them again in a couple of weeks to confirm all our dinning ressies and I'll mention it again and ask for a Quiet room! THANKS AGAIN!:p

Called yesterday to get AKL club for December 10th and 11th nothing what so ever was available. So I took my chances and sure enough today a room opended up. Thank goodness. I think I would have the shakes if I couldn't sit up in the lounge and watch the Christmas tree.;)

Now, I am sure this has been covered ad nauseum but... What night is the Sunset Safari on?
I am definately doing the Sunrise with the kids is this worth doing if I am doing the latter?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info Lindyspol...I was willing to drive to Knoxville to get $39 each way fares, but the RT price from there is the same as SWA price out of Nashville. Oh well...it was ceratinly worth a try!

Calling johnsonet, Janet2k, TammiMcMann and disneyholic family...

So you lizards are the experts on GF suites and concierge! We have a BQ type 2-br suite reserved for Mom and Dad's 75th birthdays (surprise for them!) Does this type of suite have a castle view? Should I make room requests through IPO? Now how about some fabulous ideas for the two special people (Mom and Dad) who were born one year after the Mouse? This is our first concierge experience at WDW so tips/ideas would be great! I'm working my way through the thread but I'm only on page 31 and my computer seems really slow today. ANy input?

By the way, I am so glad I came to the lounge. I always skipped by it in the past but now it's my first stop! Baileys, anyone?

Hi! Check this link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=513609&perpage=15&pagenumber=7 My post is about two-thirds of the way down the page...we stayed in the Cape Coral Suite in 1996 and it was way before I knew anything much about Disney resorts (just knew that I wanted to stay at the GF;) - my fiancee (now husband) booked it very last minute). WE did not have concierge priveleges (at least not that we knew of...)
I have stayed Sugar Loaf once (in 1999) but other than that I have only stayed Lagoon view and garden view at GF.
I know others will be able to help much more - re. Royal Palm Concierge, etc. Good Luck!

Hello All :wave2:

I was browsing pictures of some of the suites at WDW--hey, a gal can dream ;) --and saw the pictures of the one bedroom suite at AKL. That is one HUGE bathroom! I couldn't quite tell from the pictures, does it have a jacuzzi tub? In a few years that suite looks like one I would love to try out. :)

It isn't a jacuzzi tub, but it is a bigger bath tub! You could have a party in the nearby shower if you so wished! We LOVED the two bedroom suite we had in July! It was nice for everyone to have some space, and the common space was used often. Didn't hurt that we had two balconies, one double wide, so we could see the savannah from two different view points! Ok, I am in love with that suite! Don't tell my husband!

I might be going back to Disney! I told everyone here about being at the airtran site with no trips to plan *I feel like the movie Raising Arizona "I found myself going by convenience stores that weren't on the way home"* I ran it by DH for a quickie four day in October or November before my passes run out. I wouldn't be staying concierge, but a day at Disney is better than ____(fill in with your own)_______. Right? I think I will have to decide tonight, but the flight prices are just unbelievably low I am finding it very hard to pass them up!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Debbie

PS Elizabeth>> I ran into one of your wedding photos the other day while surfing the threads. It was BEAUTIFUL! You and your DH just looked stunning and looking at the photo brought tears to my eyes! *there were fireworks going off behind you; It looked like illuminations?*

Debbie,

Thanks so much for the info on the suite. That shower did look HUGE in the picture I saw. A quick trip to the World sounds wonderful to me--I say go for it! :)

Thanks so much for the compliments on my wedding pictures. Our wedding really was a dream come true for us, and we will cherish the memories forever. The fireworks picture of us was taken from the little bridge that leads over to the Italy Isola (that little island thing beside the Italy Pavilion) during our Illuminations pre-reception. It was wonderful! If you want to see more of my pictures, here is a link: http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=9nofjoj.4g1gw5nb&x=0&y=nzoc60

:)

The one bedroom suite does not have a whirlpool tub. But the shower that can fit 4 people more than makes up for that. The bathroom was wonderful!:D

*shaking head* Not one of us has tried out more than four people in that shower... the shame of it all! LOL

I love the pictures! Thank you so much for sharing!

I am currently debating the trip to the world. I need to go, I need to go, I need to go!

Happy Friday!!
Debbie

Just leaving out breakfast treats and bumping this back to the top of the page before heading out to the Farmer's Market.

#1hockeymom - I agree - you NEED a Disney trip. There's gotta be some way to rationalize, er, I mean, justify this!

Good morning all! and thanks for breaky! Just stopped in to say hi and wish you all a "MAGICAL DAY".
