hightown - Hey!! We live in a very rural town between KC and Springfield called Clinton, with a population of only 10,000. We are on Truman Lake, which has the largest shoreline of any lake in MO (however, they raise and lower the depth to keep Lake of the Ozarks pretty, so we kind of lose out.) My sister and her family lives in St. Louis, we've spent lots of time there. Good luck with the job thing!;) But be prepared, we have about as much humidity in the summer as FL!!

Debbie - YAY!!!! Employed for another year, that's fantastic! Now, you can relax, for a day or two!!:Pinkbounc

hightown-congrats on safari! How exciting!!!

Debbie-thanks for the kind words and what happy news for you!

Well the social worker spent 2 hours here meeting Emma, getting her background, and explaining the program to me. The evaluation team will come next Thursday. She's not sure how Emma react as she is very shy and took a while to warm up today but once she warmed up she was about as chatty as she ever is. She did think that Emma was delayed in repeating sounds and word count but she's not really qualified to say if she's 25% delayed as required to qualify for the program. The program is funded by the state but they are not state employees. My DH seems more relaxed about it. Thanks again for all the encouraging words!

WELCOME BACK BT :earseek: I heard from a little birdie at BW IL that you're back! So my dear, DO tell...everything! And we especially want to see those fabulous pictures you always take!

Glad you are home safe and sound. We missed you here at LL!::yes::

Bambi's back? We need to clean this place up! *running around in circles trying to pick up the planners, guide books, and maps laying around* At least the food area is always neat and tidy! *whew* OK, Bambi, we're ready! (and I hope you had a wonderful trip, too!)

Debbie

Debbie - I'm so relieved you made it in to put this place in order - how embarassing if Bambi came home to find it in disarray! *kicking a stray map under the couch*:rolleyes1

Welcome home, BT!

Oh, cajunfan - I don't know how I missed it, but WELCOME HOME!!! Can't wait to hear your report!::yes::

Wow k&a&c'smom - just saw how close you are to your upcoming trip. I won't even ask about packing. We are almost getting to our single digit dance!

Bambi - Welcome back

Welcome back BambiTamby! We enjoyed meeting you and your mom - can't wait to meet more Lizards on our next trips.

k&a&c'smom - I'm getting so excited for you! I hope you and DD have an experience as wonderful as ours at the Poly - it was great to feel like things are getting back on track there. I will buckle down and get my trip report posted before you leave - promise!

Got to go meet my cousin and the kids - give them their WDW presents and especially Bailey's autographed monorail co-pilot license, complete with little drawing from our favorite monorail man!

cajunfan & BT-WELCOME HOME!!! Can't wait to hear details!

I've just got to share 2 funny things about yesterday's visit. First Joe & Lizzie were there when social worker came. I thought she'd want to meet them so she'd she a full picture of Emma's environment. So they both are greeting her out the window "Hi, Hi! Emma can't talk..." then when she comes in Joe says "you have big teeth". After that ackward moment he tells her how we were just cleaning. Not quite going so far as to tell her what a mess the place was just 1/2 hour before she shows up...Aren't kids priceless? My DH quickly took them outside to play so we could talk and she could observe Emma on her own. After about 5 or 10 minutes Lizzie screams in the open window "Mama, can Emma talk now?"

We've already agreed that DH will take the kids away before she & the team arrive next Thursday. Social worker says Joe will be very interested in the props used for testing....

YCFan-I just read your great trip report. What is the puzzle and paint? I didn't know kids could still get chicken pox after the shot. That shot seemed to be the one all 3 of my kids reacted the worse to.

Kerry-thinking of you today! Hope you had a good day yesterday.

lovesdumbo: The puzzle and paint is actually pieces of white chocolate cut into puzzle shapes that when you put them together you have an embossed picture of Mickey Mouse in white chocolate. You can then "paint" the Mickey picture with colored sugar syrup that is placed around the edge of the plate like an artist's pallette. A small artist's paint brush is also on the plate. It also has a vanilla cupcake with icing on the plate. It was wonderful!! Kept Andrew busy for a loooonnng time, all the way through our desserts. And yes, even though kids have the chickenpox vaccination they can still get the disease. It's just usually a much milder case than they would have gotten if they had not had the vaccine. Glad it's all over with before kindergarten anyway.

GoofyJoofy - Yes, we are getting very close. I thought we might see each other while there, but I think we leave the day you get there!:(

steveanddonna - I hope so, too, really can't wait to get to the Poly!! Sooo looking forward to Hawaii, the beach, the pool, Ohana, Kona!

Guess what?! I just heard the International Space Station go over!! DH is a huge HAM radio geek, and he has an antenna set up to capture ISS transmissions. Normally, when they pass over it just sounds like static, as nobody is talking. A few minutes ago, I heard someone talking as I sat at the computer, but didn't pay much attention, as DH normally has a radio turned up and people talk. But then I heard one of the voices say "yeah, where I live in TX it is raining, but on the International Space Station it's always a nice day!" I shot out of my seat and ran around like a chicken looking for the phone to call DH, as you rarely hear anyone talking!! Of course, his shop phone was busy! And, I missed the rest of the conversation looking for the cordless phone! Just thought someone would like to know!!

If you've actually had the chicken pox can you get them again?

Unfortunately, yes. Though my doctor tells me if you got the shot, the chances are slim that you'll get them (unless you had a reaction to the shot or the shot was too old).

I had the cp as a child, but VERY mild. Last year at the ripe old age of 42 I got them again - really BAD! I was actually quarantined inside my own house for 6 weeks because I was SO contagious - there was a sign on my front door saying no one could come into contact because CP was inside. Lemme tell you, it did "wonders" for my social life. A friend of mine came over to check on me after a week and duct taped oven mitts on my hands because I kept wanting to scratch. NOW, I'm told, I'm immune.:earseek:

BT - WELCOME BACK - glad you liked it, KerryCM and I were so pleased we could surprise you! And everyone deserves a little extra "Disney magic" in their lives! So do, tell - spill, girl, we want to hear all the details. We both wanted to just fly down and be metamorphised into flies (so we could see your expression). But alas, we were afraid we wouldn't be able to change back in time to go to work.:hyper:

mom_rules: I was told by the doctor that once you have them you can't catch them again but they can manifest themselves as shingles later in life. If you haven't had chicken pox then you can't ever come down with shingles. My son got his shot when he was 12 months old and got the chicken pox one week before his fourth birthday.

Bambi: Welcome back!

Woo Hoo! :Pinkbounc We are getting soooo excited :hyper: :teeth:
Thank you BT for that quick update. Almost time for our single digit dance!

BT WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!

I am so glad you enjoyed your surprise, and of all places for it to be delivered!:bounce: You ust have truly felt like a princess: !!!
It took a good bit of detective work to find you, but thanks to our good friends at the BWI we were able to do it.:Pinkbounc They just knew exactly what we should put in the basket.!!!! Now if I can get lucky enough to have a suite in Oct. I will be thrilled.

mmause Now I really wish I was a fly on the wall to see the room and BT's face!!! By the way, thanks for the phone call yesterday. You made me laugh when I needed it.

lovesdumbo Early Intervention is wonderful! I had many dealings with them while I taught preschool. I am hoping my grandaughter's pediatrician will reccomend it for Madyson. She is really not speaking either. But, I have seen many children just not speaking until 2.

My tests are done. Now am trying to get meals cooked and things cleaned before next week. My husband said he will take care of meals, then I found his pile of take-out menus!!!!! One week from today it will be all over and hopefully my anxiety will be gone and replaced with thoughts of the Innkeeper's Club!!!:bounce:
Have a nice day everyone.:wave2:

Bambie,
Welcome back! I'm dying to hear what I can expect next month!
So glad your trip was nice.

Welcome back, BT!!! I can't wait to hear about CR 14th floor! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful trip. ::yes::
