francie...Our VIP seating was the area next to Rose & Crown with tables, chairs...and it was covered!

there is a CM in a vest and flashlight by the roped off entrance that will ask for your name.
We were the only ones there!
TOTAL VIP!

Another area is next to Italy. they'll have a roped off section with a cast member checking the VIP list. but, no tables and chairs....just the park benches. you're right there by the water with no one in front of you!
It beats fighting for a great spot, no doubt.

mmausse...what a wonderful gift for your friend!
My best advice is look at Expedia (they have concierge) or go to the hotel's web site to look for their internet specials.
All else fails, call the hotel direct and ask the reservationist if there are any manager's specials and any upgrades for concierge.

I love the new clippies! You have such a talent!

We've never had VIP seating for fireworks save one year at MK. This VIP seating was offered as a "concierge" perk. I know they used to offer that VIP seating for AP holders and it was incumbent upon the holder to check-in at guest services first thing in the a.m. for the privilege. It was first come, first served. Also, everyone in the party had to be AP holders.

Did concierge arrange this for you as a result of your APs or just simply because you asked? I wouldn't want to impose on any friendships I've developed with the CMs in order to get VIP seating, but our son is a major Illuminations afficionado. I planned a band trip for the kids' H.S. band two years ago and scheduled the dinner party on the terrace in front of France. Our son was so impressed with the service/view, I'd love to have great seating/viewing again. On the other hand, I don't really want to find other people to plan a party (dinner/dessert, or otherwise) while we're vacationing. I would, however, like to have VIP seats for Illuminations if it's doable.

Could you give me some details how you arranged this great seating? Thanks!

At YC CL - most of their hot food were from the Yachtsman-Does BWI have a restaurant that supplies their hot dishes and what might some of the be?

Right click the clippie and click properties. When the "http://" line appears, highlight it, copy it and go to your User CP. In the User CP go to your signature and paste the copied "http://:" into the signature box at the point you want it to appear, e.g., before your countdowns or after, etc. Hope this helps you add them in--they are so cute!

mom_rules - I have read someplace (maybe another thread?) that the BWI food comes from both Spoodles and Flying Fish.

Maybe Kerry can shed some light on the subject.

The kids are easy to love but even though my DH is a great guy he doesn't travel well with the kids (yet-he didn't travel at all before we met and I trained him good but the kids add a whole other demension). He is such a worrier. I'm not so I don't always have a lot of patients for it. I really would have to think twice about going without her. She is so calm and easy going. And while I pay for the trip she has to take her vacation time and 7 nights away from her family (she has 3 children-1 just graduated from Welesley-going to Harvard Grad school, 1 just graduated from HS and the youngest is 13). I really am very grateful that she is helping us make these magical memories. This year I'm buying AP's so we can go again next year. I am glad she's going with her family in Dec or Feb so she can make good use of her AP. Those $115 Dec flights are looking good to her! I was just asking her about strollers. I plan on bringing our single umbrella for my baby and renting doubles in the parks but now I worry about going to F&WFest at night and having to carry 2 sleepy kids back to Poly but she just says "there are 3 of us...". So I'm still undecided-I may rent a sit n stand from ABBF or I may just wing it. The oldest can ride in our stroller, I have a hip carrier for the baby and my DS will probably be walking. I really like the idea of just 1 single umbrella in the room not to mention the bus. I've also heard that you can borrow strollers from CL. Hey didn't I just say I'm not a worrier?

Debbie-get packing! Were you the one who rubs Cindy's slipper for good luck? Give it a good rub for all us LL.

Tess....no, those weren't AP seating......usually the GM of the resort offers the VIP seating. But, you CAN call IPO and put in a request to put together a dessert party at Epcot.

mom_rules...we had tapas from Spoodles while we were there! They were wonderful! Some hot beef empanadas ( like little meat pies) with some other items from BW area.
Don't worry! They are fabulous at the BWI CL!!!!

Kerry...you can probably come up with more food items.

But, I loved Blondie's clippies and Dan's pics so much, I learned.

The artistic stuff just came from experimenting with my software.

mom_rules, I don't remember the names of anything we ate. The ones from Spoodles were mainly meats in a phylo dough and there were also some type of mushroom puff things. From the Flying Fish there were crab puffs and other fish dishes. I thought everything was so good.

Got a call today from the doctor. I go back for more surgery August 18th. I was trying to fit a trip in with a good friend, but I guess that is out. I should be laid up for 12-18 weeks, but I can still travel to Disney in October!
