VAgal - Not sure what "princely" PJs are, all I can envision is Aladdin in his prince Ali white puffy pants.
Now a "Royal" robe sounds nice, but I distinctly remember someone here complaining about the "old" men in the Lounge wearing their robes and showing off their boxers. I just don't need that kind of reputation. :rotfl:

VAgal & lovesdumbo - Great pictures. VAgal, can't wait a full year to hear about your surfing lesson, so I guess you have to book a trip RIGHT NOW!

Welcome to the lounge desiab! - The BWI is the next lounge DW wants to try. You should have a wonderful time. When are you going?

dreamflight99 - Enjoy the trip. Hope we hear from you over the next 8 weeks.

What do you mean whispering in DH's ears? Some of us DHs (and I think Fred will back me up on this) are just as excited to plan, book and go to WDW as the women around here. :rotfl: :jumping4:

#1hockeymom - My brother used to work for Coach. He was their comptroller.

SORRY! You are right! So just what are you whispering into DW's ear? *feels so weird to write DW since those are my initials!*

Sorry Fred, Goofy, and all the other lounge kings! We promise to move our tiaras so you won't accidentally sit on one of them! :)

Tammy - You may think I'm nuts, but I wouldn't totally restrict surf lessons to the kids only. When we return next summer, I'm going for it! There were mainly teens in our group, but my son was the youngest and there was a gentleman that appeared to be middle-aged. It is for people of ALL ages - young and old alike. Keep in mind, I really don't go by a number for age. I believe it's how you live life that determines how "old" or young you are.
I've been surfing for years, I'll teach you!!~In fact, we leave three boards in fla, and will "pick them up" when we arrive!! We LOVE surfing Cocoa for fun, but the Fla. waves just can't compete (IMHO) with southern Cal! :teeth:

#1 HM...Which one should I bring? The Minnie? Or maybe the Coca-Cola can, Campbells soup, or the Princess Amidala? I'll definitely bring one!! ::yes::

Thanks to everyone for the KIND & resounding travel wishes!~I'm planning to take zillions of pics, and will be sure to post LOTS & LOTS!! I wish we were all traveling together, one big family...for eight weeks of SPLENDOR in the SUMMER SUNSHINE!! :sunny:

Time to retreat to the pool again. I came in long enough to make some fresh banana muffins in my "easy bake" (*DD's name for my double~convection ovens...LOL). I'll be sure to leave some out on a tray for y'all...with some fresh lemonade, etc.

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

hockeymom...your DH sounds like a hoot. Mine sure can think up some pretty weird/entertaining remarks about whatever comes to mind. He's kinda like a child, just opens his mouth and whatever comes out, so be it. :o (I mean that in the *nicest* way, of course!) Your initials are DW? Mine TOO! :D
So glad to hear that you've heard from Alice. I sent her a PM not long after I found out what was going on. I wanted to send her another one to see how they were all doing but didn't want to bother her. Could you please pass along my prayers to her and her family?

Everyone have a great evening.

You NEVER know when those will come available!
Call everyday...even to add a night or two as a secret suprise for your DH! ;)

Debbie....thank you for the update on ALICE !!!! I was thinking of her today also!::yes::
And also sending floridafam and mmausse healing  and prayers~! :sunny:

Majestic....:wave2: good to see you, buddy!

ead79..do the Keys Tour! It is something you haven't done before and it is another awesome way to see the MK.

lovesdumbo...love those pics! And now, I'm going to have to check the calendar to see if we'll be there during the full moon!
::yes::

GoofyJoofy and Debbie...ROTFLOL!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
you two are too funny! :teeth:

luckywife...I'm the SAME way about animals! Sweet little babies! ::yes::

dreamflight....thanks for the muffins and lemonade! Just what this ol' gal needs to wind down before I go outside by our pool!:drinking:
DH and DS love to surf! I'm his "surf chick"...you know, the one who holds onto the keys, towels, and wax!
Yes, the Florida waves are not like California's.

Also...I casting my vote for the "Pricess Amedala" . princess:

:thewave: to everyone else in the lounge!

:Pinkbounc

You guys are the Best (or is that worst;) ) influence... I just booked 2 nights at the end of my trip at BWI Concierge!! I'm soooo excited:teeth: I've been wanting to try this resort but with only a 5-night stay scheduled, I figured I didn't want to do a split stay OR move from GF (LV there-can't wait to get back:sunny: princess: ). I've been waffling and just called FINALLY! As MAGIC would have it, they had a room available on the Concierge level at the AP rate. I'm soooo excited:Pinkbounc :bounce:
I know NOTHING about this resort - never visited it, never even been to the Boardwalk area...I have a lot of reading to do tonight:cool:
Just had to share...

We will be at Portofino Bay Hotel Club Level Oct 14-17 and then check into the Boardwalk Concierge Oct 17-24.

desiab and johnsonet you are going to love the BWI!:) It is my favorite place to stay, as many on this thread know. The cast at the Innkeeper's Club is just the best.
I will be there in Oct also, the 14th -20th. I have 3 rooms booked. My son and his family along with my son's in-laws (who have never been). :Pinkbounc
I should also say
Welcome!!! You will get so much information here!

My kitchen is coming along so nice. Yesterday after I returned from the doctor it looked like the day we were first buikding it. Cabinets go in today along with the hardwood floor. I need to find some painters now!!!!! I want everything done before my next surgery.
Have a great day everyone:wave2:

Good morning all!

I can't wait to hear from all of you going to the world soon!
DF are you going to be posting "live on location"? I sure hope so, otherwise I may have to wait until I get back from my trip to hear all the details of yours (I am like everyone else...love to read your posts!...do you need an assistant to keep travel notes?...I am short, I could fit in a suitcase....of course I would go over that weight limit on luggage:teeth: )

I can't wait until signatures come back online so that I can check my counter! Only three weeks left for my very first concierge experience!

I'm so glad to hear Alice is doing better!

Not too much longer and some of you will be sipping on wine/cordials and munching on the delectables! Mmmmm, the wine. All this talk is starting to make me homesick for AKL!!!

Welcome to the lounge, Desiab & Johnsonet! Warning, warning....staying concierge may change the way you book your WDW trips from here on out...you may not be able to return to non-concierge!

It's not a bad thing for us though. My DH & DS took to lounge life rather easily. By the 2nd day, DH simply spoke the words "I don't know if I'd want to stay any other way, but concierge." Music to my little ears! :goodvibes

Quoted by GoofyJoofy "VAgal - Not sure what "princely" PJs are, all I can envision is Aladdin in his prince Ali white puffy pants. Now a "Royal" robe sounds nice, but I distinctly remember someone here complaining about the "old" men in the Lounge wearing their robes and showing off their boxers. GoofyJoofy - :rotfl:

It's a PJ party, I don't think anyone will mind your royal robe. That's if you keep the front closed you should be able to maintain your reputation - LOL! ;)

Dreamflight - Surfing looks sooooo fun! My son had a blast. He's taking more swim lessons so he can do the "big" wave next go around.

You guys, don't worry! I will have DH photograph my surf school experience so I can post them...no matter what kind of crazy shots he gets. I'm sure the wipe out shots will be hilarious! Now I'm thinking I better practice the land based techniques so I can get a head start - LOL!

I'm wavering a little....I like the GF, but I can't help but being attracted to the garden suites at BWI. Now it's got me thinking...should I stick with GF RPC with monorail or Garden suite at BWI?

KerryCM - I know this is your favorite resort...can you give me some insight on BWI (transportation)? PM me if you'd like!

Cajunfan - Cool - just 3 weeks to go! BTW, they are really sticklers for that weight limit thing. I found that out on our return trip home, but the guy gave me an opportunity to switch a few things around to keep it "legal." No more stuffing a pal in the luggage to sneak them in - LOL!

Thanks for the welcome -
I've been lurking on this thread for a while - stayed AKL CL last October and it was fabulous:teeth:
My trips are DEFINITELY getting more frequent...I want to try BWI, YC, BC and Poly CL so this BWI trip is a startprincess:
I think I've read everything on the Internet re. BWI last night and today:rolleyes: so any other info would be devoured by me (hint, hint!)

We caught the "bug" in Sept. of 99. Our first trip to GF and we were upgraded to concierge and we were hooked. Then a stay at the Poly-concierge-had a wonderful time. Last time we stayed at the GF-RPC-had an awesome time. We're going in October and I could only get GF-lagoon view on the 7 for 5. Waaaahhh. I'm trying desperately to change it. I'm hoping for an AP rate like everyone else. I'm not sure I can go non-concierge. Even my DH who never asks anything re:trip planning is devastated. For now I'll just live off of you other lounge lizards-so bring on the trip reports please:wave: so I can feel like I'm home.

DD selected this with DH for moi, when she was "13" years young. So, she fittingly chose #13 out of 75 pieces created!

I just broke down and booked YC lagoon concierge :teeth: It's our first stay at the Yacht but we have stayed concierge at WL and BWI and I love it ::yes::

Like....Captain Concierge! Where's he and Donna been lately? Missing our Poly Lizards!
Thanks, BT - it's nice to be missed! Cajunfan is exactly right - had to get through the birthday marathon (11 family b-days over 2 weeks) before I could get on with my normal life. Trying to talk Captainconcierge into posting. He's been lurking, but he's been too "shy" to post. He's much more personable face-to-face (and cute, too!) His words: "What would I write - that I bought new Keen sandals & they're perfect WDW shoes for guys?" Maybe GoofyJoofy and Majestic can give him some encouragement!

I can't believe how much I've missed - lots of new Lizards, great pictures, lots of news. Everyone's photos were gorgeous; I loved seeing them. It's the next best thing to meeting you all! I think a Lizard meet is inevitable! Who cares if GoofyJoofy's boxers peep out a bit, as long as they're Mickey boxers!
Cajunfan a "mini-meet" in August would be great! Let's plan on doing that.
I really don't go by a number for age. I believe it's how you live life that determines how "old" or young you are.
VAgal you are a girl after my own heart!!! The best compliment I have ever received was from a 20 year old co-worker. He was talking about "old people" like his mom going to rock concerts and how embarrassing that is when I reminded him that I go to concerts all the time and am 3 years older than his mom. His response - "but that's different. You're like cool-40, not Mom-40."
Who could feel anything but young in the Magic Kingdom?

ead We have done Keys to the Kingdom & the Epcot Segway tour. We enjoyed both and plan to do Backstage Magic in the fall, as Keys to the Kingdom left us wanting more. The Segway tour was fun, but not so much a tour as a 2-hour Segway ride. It was very cool, but not as informational as we expected. A fringe benefit of the park tours is meeting other guests in a smallish group. We've met people from all over the world on the tours. I did the Epcot garden tour, which was incredible, but DH would have been bored silly. We have also done a VIP tour, which was absolutely the best, and not as expensive as you might think. The guides can personalize & customize much more when it's only your group on the tour.

WELCOME to all the new Lizards and Prayers & PD to everyone who needs them. Hopefully I'll never get this far behind again!

Oh my god, you are soo right. Still 45 days from first ever WDW trip and we already got GF booked for Dec.

You guys (aka the LLs) are a bad  or good :bounce: influence on me and DW.

We already started talking about resort hopping next summer, wanting to check out AKL CL (so we can do the sunrise/sunset or both :) tours), BWI (can't fit 5 in a garden suite   ) and Swan/Dolphin. :earseek:

Well, we brought out the AKL map and looked at every room location we've had so far. By we I mean DS and I, as we've been in more than anyone else and I was in a room right next to one of ours when it was only my mother and myself. Of course, I did put in the email to Don that sleeping arrangements were very specific! LOL DS is sure we'll get a room upgrade, I'll be happy if no one is touching! I can't believe I thought life was bad when it was my kids fighting/looking at each other in the back seat, now I have to worry about DD and DBF TOUCHING! ACK! OK, I am trying to be a "cool 38" and not a mom 38 (and now you see what I mean about being a bad role model for waiting to get married and have kids! )

Captain concierge wanted to talk about shoes! I think he fits in perfectly! Glad you made it through birthday marathon in one piece! Christmas is like that around here with lots of birthdays, our real on paper (yep, story there) anniversary, and of course Christmas Eve, Christmas day and NYE.

DF I LOVE YOUR PURSES! I will continue to live vicariously through you as long as you keep posting pictures and weaving wonderful tales! Thank you!

When do we get our counters back? I know I can count the hours and days, but it is fun to see it every time you post!

THANKS FOR THE WARM WELCOME!

As of yesterday we are staying BWI concierge in October. The cast member I spoke with said that I could contact the concierge staff as early as today.

Unfortunately, I am still in the stage of deciding where we want to go and what things we will do. As part of planning the trip I am helping a friend create a budget conscious, yet memorable anniversary surprise for his wife. I could use some suggestions on that front.

My question is: would it be CHEEKY of me to ask for help from concierge for something we would not be directly involved in?

Also, besides PS's what can the staff assist my family and I with?
