This will be my first full marathon in Jan and have hardly done any training since last Jan and I have a 1/2 planned for the end of Sept:scared1: I haven't even felt worthy to post here lately as I don't feel like a athlete right now.

I don't have my MFM book with me but curious if you have all started "official" training yet???

Kim

I'm "only" doing the half, (hehe), so I haven't started my "official" training but I've been in training for other half-marathons this fall.

I did my first full this past January at WDW. If I recall correctly, it was about this time last year that I started training. I did a half-marathon in mid-Oct. so you'll be ahead of my game and the MfM plan. I also want to mention that I started this training without doing much at all during the summer last year. You can do it!

Good luck!

Never "only" a 1/2 marathon. I have done 2 and as you know they are tough:hug:

I was thinking it was a 20 week program but wasn't quite sure. I have done almost no training for my 1/2 in Sept so I am pretty much starting off fresh which scares me a bit, but fortunately it has a 3 hour and 40 min time limit so I should be OK.

Thanks for the info!!!!

Well, I should clarify my comment. :teeth:

I just did a half-marathon a couple of weekends ago and it was very tough for me. There's definitely nothing easy about them. I say "only" because I'm so glad that I don't have to train for a full this year. The halfs have been plenty challenging and are kicking me in the rear. :scared:

Oh knowing you have done them before I knew that it was said "tongue and cheek".

However, I have had many people say....oh you only did a 1/2???? Then when they find out I "only" walk they say " Oh I could do that" yet none of them have signed up for one yet....;)

I have done 2 1/2's and both kicked my butt and I cried my eyes out crossing the finish line, because I did it. Just don't ask me to lift my foot up on that milk crate to take off my chip....:rotfl:

I've been training but probably not as hard as I could. I've been putting in about 3 days/week but I know I should be going for an extra day and probably cross training on another.

You still have about 6 weeks to the Waterfront Marathon. I know you can do it Kim!! :cheer2:

Thanks Vicky, I am scared but also looking forward to it, as it will be my first event with DS who just turned 19.

Hope to see you there!!

Kim - I do MFM for the Half and it doesn't start yet. I think I start Oct 4. Right now is "Train to Train" time. In other words, time to get off my lazy fat butt and get downstairs on the TM and stop fooling around! :scared: Oops, OK sorry, that was directed at me, not you. :upsidedow

:lmao: No Judy works for me also......can you come to my house and yell at me like that every day:flower3:

I know how you feel! I'm a little nervous about it myself - I think I'm going to have to drive the course once so I can get an idea of where I'm going. Is your DS going to be walking or running?

We'll have to pick a place where we can meet before the race :)

DS will be jogging, I am trying to get him to slow down a bit he goes at a pretty fast pace but I want him to take it easy being his first run.

When are you going to packet pick up?? Not sure when we will be going it will depend on DS's work schedule.
