Have we been upgraded?

It seems that some who have been moved from AKL are being put in the BC. I wonder if some of those already booked at the BC are being upgraded to make room for the AKL folks. I don't know. Just an idea.

That was my thought yesterday as I was reading this...

We found out about our upgrade in April the same way that you did. All of a sudden we received a new reservation e-mail, and it said "club level". I nearly fell off my chair.

Congratulations to you and enjoy the upgrade!

. . . Why doesn't Disney reward all of us frequent visitors by offering upgrades when the rooms are available? . . .

1) First of all, Disney CM's don't know you are a frequent visitor.
2) That information is not kept in a ressie file.
3) In fact, CM's can only look back about 18-months.
4) That takes a lot of effort, so it is only done for a special issue that arises.

NOTE: As a side point, percentage-wise, there are not that many upgrades. You hear about the people bragging about them, but you don't hear about the people who don't get an upgrade. Although not a regular job, I did fill in frequently for room assigners, and there are general guidelines for upgrades. Of course, CM' can upgrade to spread some magic and pixie dust, but most upgrades are made 2-3 days before you even arrive at WDW.

We have been upgraded a number of times at the Deluxe resorts but have never been notified ahead of time. How strange. I can't wait to hear how this plays out.

We've never been upgraded either--last year didn't even get either of the buildings we requested--but I keep hoping! Maybe this year he AKL people going to YC will bump us up to a water view or something.

Actually, I think they DO who who the frequent guests are via that
Destination Disney computer system upgrade.

I've had been upgraded when I've been a Disney Store cast member 10
years ago, but I never had been upgraded as a "civilian".

I've also had been a victim of CRO agent error. In 2002, I booked what
I thought was the annual passholder rate at for garden view concierge
at the Poly. It wasn't. It was airline employee rate. I had confirmed twice
with the CM that the rate seemed a bit low for AP rates, but she told me
it was fine. When I got the confirmation, I realized that the code was
one letter different than it should be, and that's how I found out I had
gotten the airline rate.

When I called CRO back to question the code, and found out they gave
me the wrong rate, I told them I'd really need to check availability elsewhere
because I couldn't afford the price difference due to the CM error. They
gave me some pixie dust and allowed me to keep the room at the rate I
paid, making a note on the reservation that they were comping us the rate
difference due to CRO error.

You never know what you're going to get, but I know that they've given
me pixie dust probably because I didn't make any stink about the problems
and was willing to adjust my plans to fix it. :)

Actually whenever my Dad calls CRO to make a new room only reservation, they have told us our total number of stays in WDW at the Contemporay and Wilderness Lodge. In fact one time when checking into the Atrium Club at the Contemporary the Cast Member told us you have had so many stays at the Contemporary since May 1998, which was the 1st time we ever stayed there.

I agree with this also. I've had CMs tell me how many times I've been there from years and years ago!

We just returned from YC CL and were upgraded to a water view room when we arrived...it was probably the best room ever!

When I got home and checked my email I saw a confirmed ressie email from CRO dated July 1...the day before we checked in to YC. It had been changed from standard view to water view room and was significantly higher in price. But I checked my bill and paid what I was stated to pay. So now, they send out notices of upgrades!

So, YOU GOT UPGRADED!:wizard: Welcome to the EPCOT Deluxe Resort Pixie Dust Squad!:wizard: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I have never gotten email confirmation on any of my reservations; sometimes I don't even get snail-mail ones!
