Have to eat Counter Service... Any Recs?

In the MK, if you are looking for a healthy alternative to the standard burgers, Pecos Bills has a wrap (chicken and lettuce and some kind of dressing) and a salad (with or without chicken), both of which are outstanding. I often get the salad without chicken, it is very filling, and it costs less than $5, so it's one of the cheapest meals you can find in the MK.

We like Pecos okay, the fixings bar is good there. I think you're gonna have a hard time sticking to the $10.00 thing, I know I would. Good luck!

I think Epcot has some great counter service. I'm a fish and chips fan at the UK. I've also heard people rave about the flame tree at AK.

At Magic Kingdom we like both Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbour House. If you want a sit down meal, try Plaza Restaurant. The sandwiches are huge and you could easily share and each get a drink for around $10 per person, possibly even including tip.

At Epcot, I would suggest Cantina de San Angel, Liberty Inn (for usual American fast food), Yakitori House at Japan.

At Disney MGM, go to the ABC Commissary or the Backlot Express

Animal Kingdom has the best of all the counter service restaurants, with Tusker House and Flametree BBQ.

I am looking at my 2000 Passporter Guide to Disney and even then, most of the counter services were averaging about $12 per person.

Also, I know when our extended family goes, we don't spend every waking hour with each other (we would KILL each other  ). Why don't you have youre DH suggest that you all separate and meet up at appointed times so everyone gets to see exactly what they want and won't have to wait while others do things they may not want to do? :smooth: That way you and your DH can sneak off get some of those sit down meals that you like. ;)

$10,let's see,how far can you stretch it?
Hmmmm, here's some ideas. We,too, usually eat brekkie at our resort in our rooms, then have 1 nice meal a day,and 1 counter service.
Here's where we like to go for counter service:
Downtown Disney:
Wolfgang Puck's

WDW-Not sure

Epcot -China's Lotus Blossom Cafe

MGM-not sure

Animal Kingdom Lodge-Chakranadi Chicken shop

And,all the All Stars Resorts and Pop Century have a lovely food court where you can get a good dinner for around $10....

Have a wonderful trip,

I like pretty much all the takeout places at EPCOT and Columbia Harbor House in MK.

Try to take your in-laws to O'Hana early - maybe if they enjoy it enough you can work on them for some other sit down meals.

Or you can explain that if you do a late buffet lunch somewhere, you can get by with a snack later in the day. Just a thought.

Many of our favorites have been listed but I would like to add Pinocchio's in Fantasyland. We grab a FP for something and then head over there to eat while we wait. We get the kid's meal of hot dog and bun, FF, mandrian oranges and a small soda for about $4. The food is of good quality and you can add things from the fixings bar to make it a bit better. Cheese sauce to the FF etc. I love to eat and it fills me up. Only problem is getting a seat occasionally and the way they have the order place is a bit confusing. Go all the way over to the right and it goes a lot faster most of the time. Have someone save your table while you order.
