Have they removed the clock radio from all the resorts?

Have you ever had an alarm go off at some ongodly hour in a resort room? I think that this is the reason.

Actually, no, I never have had that happen. It's very easy for the housekeeping staff, as part of their sweep of a room between guests, to simply check and turn off the alarm.

We didn't have a clock at Pop for our Thanksgiving trip. It was annoying. I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and like being able to check the time without fumbling for my phone.

I also like to have it while I'm getting ready in the morning just for quick glances to make sure I'm on time. If I have a bottle of foundation in my hand and gunk all over my fingers, it's so much easier to look at a clock than totally wash my hands to check a phone!

I guess it's kind of lazy of me... But I miss the clocks.

We had a clock at Pop Christmas Eve. You'd think if they were going to remove them, they would just remove them all at the same time. It just seems so random now. Some people have them, and some don't.

I almost always unplug the clock. I like to keep my charger where the clock is and in some hotels the light is way to bright.

I have had it happen and it stinks! I read that this was also an issue for guests, and that the mousekeepers did not always shut the alarm off as part of their routine. I like a clock in the room, but I just kept my phone next to me in December at CSR. I wake up early every day, and like to know the time.

We are going to miss the clock. Now I will have to buy a travel alarm clock so i can get up in the morning.

There is a "Wake-Up Call" button on the in room phone you can press and then follow the prompts to set a wake up time.:)

The phone will ring at the wake-up time and Baymax(currently)will be on the line(recorded) to get you up.

I always use it-it's a cool way to wake up.:)

An in room alarm clock rang in the the night during our hotel stay a few weeks ago (not Disney). I made a point of mentioning how annoying it was when I was emailed for feedback on our stay.
I read that this was an issue, and since it has happened to me more than once, ( I never remember to check) it made sense.

I like having the clock radio. Yes, I own a cell phone but I only use it as a phone.... do not set alarms, take pictures, search the web...

and I have never once blindly stepped off a curb to cross a parking lot without looking for traffic. Hundreds of people would be dead or seriously injured at my grocery store if the drivers didn't pay attention to what idiots walking with cell phones mindlessly do! :confused3

I never remember! It scares the sox off of me when it happens. LOL!
Me too! I really don't want to start my vacation with a clock inspection to make sure some goofball didn't leave it set by mistake or "mistake". I could unplug it, I guess, but then I'd feel like I had to set it before I left. My vote, their day is passed. ::yes::

Lightweight, small, simple, and inexpensive travel clocks are readily available. We occasionally travel with one during longer trips.

I have been trying to find one here in NL. I am told that no one sells travel alarm clocks anymore! I even went to a specialty clock shop!

Guess that I will have to order one online to bring with me. Amazon has them, I believe.

I couldn't believe that they actually removed the clocks! I miss them horribly as I often roll over at night nd glance at the clock to check the time. Never use the phone, the display goes off after a few minutes and I like to just open one eye and peek at the time. If I have to find my phone and press a button, it will wake me up for hours (insomnia issues)

The loss of the clock is a serious blow!

Can't say it's ever happened to me as my usual "check-in" routine at any hotel is to check all the drawers, closets, etc. for any "icky" things and then I go to the alarm clock to make sure the alarm is not set or is set to the time I need it set. In all of our hotel stays, I can only think of one time that the alarm was set (for 3:00 a.m.) and I turned it off.

Just returned from GF. No clock, and although we had an awesome stay, it was very annoying to have to get a phone every time we wanted to know if we were on time or late to whatever we had planned!

Because their research/surveys showed 86% of respondents don't use the clock. And of those, 95% would prefer more spots to charge their electronics.

I don't like it either, just answering the question.
I always use the clock, in the middle of the night! Don't want to fumble around for my phone and wake myself up further. Odd, we were just at Poly in August, and they had brand new clocks that fit the newer iPhones. Wish they weren't getting rid of them. Maybe they'll keep some around for guests that request one.

We are going to miss the clock. Now I will have to buy a travel alarm clock so i can get up in the morning. We are from Canada and keep our cell phone off at all times or else we will get huge roaming fees while in the United States. I wonder if its another way to save money for wdw.

Deb.
We buy a roaming package, the prices have come down a lot. Makes it easier to meet up if daughter & I decide to go in different directions. She'd rather shop then go on ToT or RCnR!! My daughter gets texting only.
Would you get roaming if you used wifi? We use wifi for MDE in the parks.

Its a shame Disney don't give every guest a survey to complete when they check out! I've certainly never had one. Big thumbs down from me, don't want to be using my phone as a clock or an alarm or even at all on holiday :sad2:
