Have they met the 1000 member mark for BLT yet?

Just wondering, does DVC already have over the 1000 member mark for BLT add-on? We want to do an add-on next year sometime, and assume we missed the Fountain promo.

I think you missed it. They had 1000 and some fell through, around 200. Last I heard they have made up the loss or they are close to it.

we signed our paperwork when it first went on sale - but we missed the fountain too!!! nevermind though!

It is my understanding that the fountain is for existing members adding on, not new members.

Congrats to you! I am envious, I hope I get to purchase there next year. Just curious, do you plan on staying there in a Magic Kingdom view room? I'm wondering if it is worth the extra points. My plan is to atleast try it once, for part or all of a stay, but other times I hope to get the standard view rooms. My points are like gold bricks :)

I just bought this week and got it!!!

My guide said that she rec'd a email last week stating that they were at about 860+.

I was only going to buy 120 points, but decided on the extra 40 just to get the tile:confused3 ( I know crazy) but I did get 160 developer points with the deal and $5 off.

Curious about what "the fountain" is? I would love to buy DVC at BLT in the coming year but I have to REALLY convinve my hubby that it's a good use of our funds in a down economy. :scared1: I've harbored a years long desire to one day buy DVC but never really shared it with him until the BLT info came out and I was too excited to contain myself.

The fountain tile is a small tile with an inscription on it that will be placed at BLT when it opens. Unfortunatly they are only for the first 1000 current DVC owners that purchase 160 points.

some of us "add-on ers" haven't closed yet, so the 860+ will go up.... my guide was kind enough to buy us some time to sell our BWV points... they are in the process of closing and we will sign the rest of the papers this week for BLT...:thumbsup2

we were not initially offered 160 developer points (we called prior to Oct 10 market crash), but thanks to all of you posting about your DP's, I called my guide and he said they are honoring DP's to anyone who requests them who did not initially get them (those who called the first 2-3 weeks of sale).... so if that is one of you out there, call your guide and get your free points! I am bringing 3 kiddos down in 3 weeks spur of the moment the day school gets out due to these free points!!! We have AP and we are in TN and can drive... just need to eat and take pix! We are so psyched!

Seriously? :confused3 I thought they met their 1000 mark a loooong time ago. The way it was sounding, I thought they sold out the fountain tile before BLT even opened to the public. Sales must not be as good as they thought/hoped. So when my guide told me that sales were great and he expects BLT to sell out in 10 months, he was just pulling my leg.

DVD had more than 1000 sold but around 200 fell out due to the new stricter credit requirements for financing.

Just talked to my guide today, and she said they haven't received any email that they have reached the mark yet, but that over a week ago they had around 100 to go. So, I finally convinced my DH to do the add on now, so we can get the DP. But, we can't put our deposit down until next Wednesday, and our guide thinks we will miss the 1000 member mark. So, we will see. I'll let you all know. I really wanted that Tile

How do you know all this? Are you secretly working for Jim L.? ;)

No, but here is some more news, Jim L and Meg C are being credited for keeping Disney in the black for last year. We can expect additional money being budgeted for WDW and DVD.

Looks like additional DVC resorts are in our future. :yay:

Really? Hmmm.....can we say "Grand Floridian Villas" !

Not quite the mad rush to buy that was expected.

The economy has got to be hurting the sales.

You know, I for one would not necessarily be happy with MORE DVC resorts on site.
