have returned from CR

My family stayed at the CR May 20 thru 28 2004

I loved the CR for many reasons, we were in the tower on the 8th floor had a odd number room so we layed in bed or ate at the table and watched the fireworks. my son loved the fun and food center. best of all was getting off the monrail or bus and not having far to walk.

I know most people dont care for the pool because it is not themed but i liked it because it was not to big and could keep a eye on your kids.

The decor of the room was not all that great but after a while you didnt even notice anymore, the bathrooms were nice also. and very clean the whole resort was very clean.

the only negative is the TV and cable channels they have. My 66yr mother when with us and some days she stayed in the room (to tired to walk to park in 95 degree's ) she is a big Nascar fan and because of Disney not certain channels she missed the race.

But overall CR was the best i hope to go back in Sept of 2005 and will stay at the CR again for right now i have no desire to stay at anyother resort.

Thanks for the review. We will be at the CR for the 1st time July 17 - 24, so it's great to hear that you had a good experience. Did you have any problems in getting a MK view with an odd-numbered room? This is exactly what we want!

So glad to hear you had a wonderful trip! We are staying there for our 2005 trip. Did you have any problem getting the MK view? We have reservations for tower mk view but I know the vieww is just a request. Did you do anything else to get this view?

Was the 8th floor the smoking floor? That is what I've heard. I requested smoking room and they said it was on the 8th floor. How was the view from there? Were the rooms filled on that floor? I ask that cuz no one seems to like smoking room

Brooke, we stayed at the CR for the first time last month and fell in love with it! Did you utilize the walkway to MK? That's one of the things we liked the most because we took our twin one year old babies and double stroller. It was so convenient to walk out of our room and directly to MK in about 10 minutes. We didn't have a tower view, but we stayed in the north wing with a bay view. It was spectacular. I have the same opinions as you about the decor, etc. So glad you enjoyed your time there and I totally relate to how you feel!

We were at CR 5/31 - 6/6 and we also loved it. We were in the South Wing, parking lot view LOL but DS and I were quite happy watching the monorail from our room. We're going back in December, tower this time, we can't wait!

People can bash CR all they want, but I've visited pretty much every resort and this one is my dream resort. Hopefully I will be able to stay there a few years down the road.

I agree, once you get used to the decor, it doesn't phase you anymore. We stayed there Dec. 2003 with the kids and my parents.

Is anyone else annoyed that the monorail goes around the long way and doesn't stop at the CR coming from the trans. center?? We usually walked it b/c it was a shorter time and the kids enjoyed it. I'm hoping to upgrade my Aug. res., I think I'm hooked on CR (despite my monorail complaint!)

I hope I don't sound weird, but can I ask a stupid question.
If you are staying in the Contemporary and you get an odd # room you get a Magic Kingdom View ? What does that mean? Is it only odd number rooms on that side or is there something special about the odd number rooms? I'm just assuming that odd is one side of the building and even is the other. It's been a long day, but after reading about the odd number rooms and we are interested in staying at the Contemporary I am curious.

I believe that the odd numbered rooms have beds that face the window, so that you can see the castle from your bed. The evn numbered rooms can still have the MK view, but the beds are not facing the windows. Can anyone back me up? I haven't been to CR yet, but this is what I've read here on these boards.
