So I called MS yesterday with a few questions about a plan I'm forming in my mind for a couple of trips & I asked the CM if they'd finished re-doing the crazy bathroom sink setup in the studios at BLT. He was CLUELESS to what I was talking about. SOOO, am I CRAZY or didn't they announce at some point that they were going to re-do the sink situation in the BLT studios & move it into the bathroom area where it belonged?!:confused3 Did I dream this? I asked the guy how long he'd been working the phones for DVC (thought maybe he was a newbie) and he said for 4 years. So am I nuts? Did they do this or not?! :confused3

They did start the work, not sure if they finished. It's probably not something they inform member service cm's about since it does not affect the reservation process.

Disboard folks usually always know whats in the future way before CM's do. We are the ones that inform them.
 
THANKS...good to know I'm not entirely crazy!! When I mentioned to the CM that I was SURE I'd read it on the DISboards he said something to the effect that you can't trust everything you read there. Then he proceeded to say that he was sure that he would be informed of any type of construction that might remove rooms from inventory. Hummm....obviously NOT!! :lmao:

We are contemplating a trip next spring and have not stayed at BLT yet...we always use studios & I was hesitant of the ones there due to the crazy layout. It may not be available tho when we want to go so it may be a non-issue but I was curious just in case we COULD get in.:goodvibes
 

CM that book reservations are not informed of all updates or changes to resorts unless DVC decides to take a large block of rooms out of service. The only way that person would know if they too were a DVC member and had possibly read about it in Disney Files or on the website, or follows a website such as this one.

Nothing unusual about that.
 
I agree that many of the CM's aren't that up on the actual accommodations - including things that don't change. Actually the front desk CM's at resorts often aren't either! The CM at AKV Jambo told me we were lucky we didn't have a parking lot view with our Standard view studio. But that's only the hotel side - not the DVC rooms. :rolleyes:

The sink remodel was announced in the Disney Files. Guess they don't read that either. ;)

I'm not sure how far along in the process they are, but our studio bathroom on the 2nd floor was the old configuration when we stayed in April.
 
You're not crazy! I remember this announcement as well.

But, has anyone even heard of a room being re-done? I can't think of any reports of the "new sink setup".:confused3
 
The studio in which I stayed in May had the sink in the bathroom. It was very nice.
 
We were in a studio even numbered on the 5th floor last weekend and the sink was in the bathroom. :)
 
Member Services are not at the resorts and many have probably never even stepped foot into a DVC room. They are not up to date on all the changes that occur and their primary purpose is to assist members in making reservations, etc. They are way too busy taking calls, to study every change and commit them to memory. There are a few exceptions to this rule and they are usually members as well as working the phones.

For any type of updates on the resorts/rooms you will always have better luck emailing member services, who can research what you want to know about and send you an email back in a day or two and not be put on the spot during a phone call.
