So,i was searching for the Passports earlier(to move them to a safer place)and i had a look at DH,only to see that its due to run out in April! So,now i need to find some way of getting it renewed without him knowing! We dont go abroaf(other than dlp)so i cant ask him to do it without raising suspicion.
So,ideas as to how i can con him into getting new photos and signing the form without letting slip we're going away!!!
The obvious idea is to leave him behind :rotfl: but it seems a bit mean as it is for his birthday!!

Would he deal with renewing it or would he leave that to you? See, my DH leaves all that sort of stuff to me so if it were me I'd be telling him that he needs to renew it before it expires otherwise it'll cost a considerable amount more when he eventually wants a new one. Provided he doesn't check up to see if this is true you may be able to persuade him without arousing his suspicion?

Tell him you've seen online that the price of a passport is set to rise by 40% after Jan. 28th and that it's more economical to renew it now rather than later.

Well whenever you renew they will add up to 9 months of any remaining time on, so depending on when you are planning on going you could say as you're not planning on going for at least xxx months/years (to cover well past the surprise) - you may as well renew the passports now while you have nothing planned so won't be in danger of needing them last minute.

Also (not sure if it is true or not) you could say it is easier to renew while it is still valid, as now they have started doing interviews for passport applications. I think it is new ones only, but you could say you heard that they do it for expired passports too and it leads to delays etc

In Australia if your passport expires you need to go through the whole application process and pay for a new one again :scared1: Not sure how it is where you are, but for us there's no excuse needed - once you have a passport, you'd be mad to let it expire.

If all he's doing is getting new photos and signing the forms, you can always just tell him that's the case anyway :rotfl:

Just tell him he needs to do that. If something comes up, he must be ready. i'm all like that - these things must be done on time, no excuses for that. These are important things.

Just tell him it needs renewing :confused3 . Doesnt everyone not renew documents regardless if your not using them right now or not. Think your over thinking it id prob be the same tho:)

If he receives the emails (and you can access them) you can Renew it online. They are currently offering 18 months for the price of 12 if you renew it online!
