Have free DDP can I upgrade tickets to AP?

Me and DW will be heading to the MK the last week in October this year again for 8 nights at Riverside with the free regular dining plan. We have already purchased the 8 day hopper tickets but we were thinking this could possibly be a 2 trip year and that maybe we should upgrade our 8 day passes to annual pass. Is this possible since we are doing this trip and getting the free dining? Or could we use 2 days first (like you have to get if you are getting free dining and already have an annual pass) then upgrade to the AP. Has anybody ever done this??

The package tickets are normal MYW tickets. That means you can upgrade them, including to annual passes, any time before they are used until up to 14 days from first use (with first use being day #1).

That's great, I do realize going next time I would go to WD with the AP if there is free DDP offered DW and I will have to buy a 2 day pass each.
