have a reservation with developer points, how.....

do I prove to a renter that the vacation is valid? Unfortunetly, we can't use the developer points that we got when we bought into AKV so we booked a vacation at SS (of course), but were told that we would only recieve an email as confirmation. How can we rent the dates to someone without giving them sufficient proof that the rental exists? Has anyone been through this before?

Why can't you use the email as confirmation?
 
I booked a non DVC vacation (Concierge Collection) using developer points and received the regular DVC confirmation letter in the mail. Who told you you would only get an email?
 
I had a choice of either a letter or e-mail.
 

Interesting....I was told specifically by the person at MS that took my reservation that I could only recieve an email confirmation & I had to call and change the reservation once & the other person I talked to also said I could only recieve an email confirmation. I'll call back again tomorrow & see if they will send me a paper one in the mail.

I haven't made any DVC reservations since August, but I've always gotten a paper confirmation and no one asked me if I wanted e-mail. Wonder if they're changing things to save $$?

My CRO reservations have come by e-mail though, including ones I made in November and December.
 
I also booked at SSR on developer points for this July. I was given a choice of receiving either an email or a letter for the confirmation.

You can forward the email to them. This is what I did. I rented out my Developer Points for the first time and they emailed me the reservation and I just forwarded the email to the people who rented from me.

Can I ask when you made your reservation? I made one on Jan. 4 and I still haven't received the confirmation email. I called MS on Sat. and they still hadn't processed it yet. I think my renter is getting very nervous but I don't know what else I can do.

It does seem like it takes forever to get confirmation from them sometimes. I made the original reservation a couple of months ago and it took about 2 weeks to get the email confirmation. Then when I called back to change it shortly after, I never got a new confirmation. I did call to confirm that it was changed & was told that it was and that a new email would be coming, but I never got it. I really need to call again and straighten it out. the reservation is for April vaca so I figured I had time, but now that it's getting closer I just want to have it all straight so I can rent it out without any problems.
 
I too rented my developer points. My renter was not satisfied with an e-mail confirmation so I had to call back to get a confirmation on letterhead. It took about 8 weeks to receive and held up my first payment. Everything takes sooooo much longer with the developer points.
 
I made my reservation today with Developer points and was told I would receive confirmation by writing in 10 to 20 business days. I was never offered email as an option.
 
I made a ressie on DP's the other day, and the CM stated she would send me an e-mail confirmation. I told her my e-mail was messed up, and she said they would send me a paper letter instead. I think you just have to ask for the letter now. :confused3

It's funny, I was thinking that I would actually tell them my email was down so I could get the paper confirmation. What else can i do, if they won't sent it via reg mail?:confused3

Wow..you too? I called exactly two weeks ago on the 6th and still haven't heard anything. I'm getting nervous myself! I'd just let the renter know that there's nothing you can do to hurry the process! Hopefully it'll come tomorrow..and mine too! ;)
