My daughter and I are driving to WDW on the 29th of Nov. We have booked the Polynesian for the 30th thru the 7th. My question is this--if I were to drive straight in and not stop over in Georgia I would be getting to the Polynesian around 1 a.m.--can I check in then for the 30th? What if we get there and there are no rooms--what would we do> What do you think>
Thanks!

First I would call the hotel direct and tell them what your plans our. They should be able to tell you if your room would be available. If not, try staying at a hotel in Orlando or the Kissemmee are for the night you arrive.

I doubt that they would allow you to check in for the 30th. It would be a late arrival for the 29th.

Why not just get a cheap room in the area and check in at the Poly after a nights sleep?

MzEeyore,

The earliest you can check in on the 30th would be 7:00am. Then your room isn't scheduled to be ready until 3:00pm. I agree with Efastpitch, and Safetymom...either drive until you need to stop get some rest then continue the morning of the 30th or drive straight though and get an inexpensive room for the night.......

You can check in at 3pm. But I doubt there will be any rooms available for you to go to. Saturday night is going to be a sell out night and it will take them some time to turn over rooms. The suggestion of staying at another hotel is good or your other option is to book a Poly room for the 29th and let them know about your late arrival, so they can note it on your resv. Then you will definitely have a room to check into. You might even what to highlight the late arrival with a fax to the front desk.

the wdw site and the poly isn't sold out for the 29th, so what if I keep checking that and they aren't still sold out what do you think the chances are then?? I have heard of people checking in at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning before so that is why I was wondering if it was doable.
Thanks

Sure if you add the 29th to your reservation and notify them that it will be a late check-in you would have a room....but why pay for the 29th and not enjoy the Poly that day , I would maybe add 1st night the 29th at one of AllStar restores about 1/3 the price for a clean room on property. Then you'll be ready first thing in the am to do early check-in at Poly and be on your way to the Parks.

Where you talking about just showing up at 1:00am and hoping there would be a room avaliable? (I wouldn't even try that) Plus you would be charged for the 29...people checking in at 2 or 3am have had reservations for the night before not the next day...
