Actually, I have two questions.

1 - How are the balconies set up? Do they have solid walls or are they just bars? Is there anything on the balcony (table/chairs/etc)?

2 - Are the doors to the balconies sliding glass or something else? How do they lock?

We have little ones and are trying to plan for what safety measures we need to bring with us.

Thanks for any info.

there are 2 chairs for sure. the balcony was half concrete and then bars, if i remember correctly. my sons are 4 and 2, and i was very worried that they could climb up the concrete part, and then fall over the balcony. but i'm super-paranoid. :) we just made sure they didn't go out alone. i'm almost positive the locks were very hard to unlock.

Thank you. We will have a 5 y/o, 3 y/o, and a 22 month old with us (possibly a 3 month old) and just want to make sure no-one is taking any trips over the side of the balcony.

if you are staying in a 1-bedroom - the balcony is part of the bedroom.

in the living room is a window - almost floor to ceiling. so they can see out - just not be out.

in a studio - the balcony is in all studios.

IIRC, the balcony doors had 2 locks - 1 near the handle, and one up near my head (and I'm 5'4"). The lower one seemed much easier to unlock than the upper one. Just remember to lock both and you'll have no worries.

Those balconys are an accident waiting to happen....too tempting for kids to use that step up.:scared1:
