Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

If you can see your magic band in your MDX account then the photos will show up for you. Ride photos of course won't unless you've purchased memory maker.

May just be the best news I got all day. Thanks.

Thank you all for all the great information on this thread! I have managed to read most of it.

I'm wondering if there are extra photopass photographer locations during the holidays? I remember having our pictures taken in front of the tree at the WL over Thanksgiving 2010. If so, is there a list and/or schedule? I'm pretty sure the WL photographer was only there for limited times.

Thank you!

Good question because yes there is! It changes around every few years but if I remember they had people at Grand Floridian, WL, AKL, and possibly somewhere else taking pictures by the trees. I think they are out at night, definitely on Thanksgiving week and the weeks before, during, and after Christmas and New Years. They might have also been out in the weeks between the two but it is usually slower so I'm not sure. Last year on Christmas they also had photographers with some special character meet and greets. I don't remember hearing who was out while working but I personally saw Lilo and Stitch and the Polynesian one afternoon and Chip and Dale at the Contemporary one evening. My best advice is to stop by Grand Floridian since it is always beautiful around Christmas and they will have a tree and a photographer. After that, monorail hop and check out the other decorations and you may stumble upon someone or something.

Also, they put more photographers in the parks to get pictures with their trees. During the holidays most of the characters wear Christmas stuff so if you are into that (I'm not personally) check it out. Santa is also in Downtown Disney to meet.

Thank you! Dd and I will be at the Grand Floridian for the perfectly princess tea so I will be sure to check if there is a photographer there.

I just wondering if you could clarify something for me. I purchased a room package that included memory maker. My sister also purchased this same package and will be at WDW at the same time as I will. We are linked as family and friends on MDE. The only thing we will actually be doing together is going to Hoop Dee Doo because her trip ends just as mine begins. I actually have 2 questions.
1. Is my memory maker number the same as my reservation number? Or do I need to call and have it added to my reservation even though it is booked as a room package with memory maker? I just don't see it showing up as linked in the Photopass section of MDE.
2. Will all of my pictures and my sisters pictures be all mixed together since we both have memory maker packages and are in each other's family and friends?
I hope this all makes sense and thank you SO much for this thread!!

I am sorry if I am completely making you repeat or just clueless..but that is what I am I guess..clueless. We are planning our first Disney trip coming December 2015. I hopped on these boards to read tips and start learning how to plan. Your thread is full of great information although I have to be honest and admit I have NO IDEA what is Memory Maker and Magic Bands. I have no idea what the differences are. How to obtain them and how much they cost. What is the process once you own once or both to use them in the parks and then obtain the pictures? I am just curious about a little more in depth explanation to understand all the logics and informational parts of the different passes and bands ect! Thanks in advance for your time!

Had about eight magic shots show up with no magic. While it is slightly amusing to see us holding invisible creatures and pointing to completely normal pavement in front of us, I was wondering if there is anything we can do to fix the magic?

Some of our magic shots are fine, but eight have nothing. Do they take some time to appear online? Or if the pic is there the magic should be there too?

Does it matter if I go ahead and start downloading the pics that are okay, or will that mess up the ability to have them fixed.... if that is even possible?

Thanks for any help.

Email PhotoPass and they'll fix them.

I was recently at Disneyland, and I had 219 Photopass Pictures. A few of my Magic Shots were minus the magic. I called the Photopass phone number 1-407-560-4300, and explained the problem to them, and they were able to go inside my account and add the magic. They then sent me an e-mail with the download of the corrected photos.

Email sent, thanks.

Do you think it is okay to start manipulating and downloading the rest of the pictures in the meantime?

Thanks much.

I know you can review the pictures each day but can you download them daily or do you need to wait until the end of the trip?

Unless things have changed you don't download anything until you are finished with all the manipulating of the pics, adding borders, changing sizes, etc. But yes, you can get in there and work on the pics and finish the rest when they add the magic to your pics. Then once you have them all done, or your time is up and you have to stop, you finalize it and order your download. They send a compress file with all the pics. I don't think you download each pic separate.

Yeah that's how PhotoPass + works. With memory maker you can start downloading right away.

Good deal. I like having it in a compressed file for saving but for those that want them right away that is a nice change

There is also a photographer at the tea party, so more photos!

Magic Bands are plastic bracelets that you get for free if you make a WDW resort reservation. They can carry your room key, park tickets, photopass photos, fastpasses, and credit cards. You just swipe it over a reader and it works. If you are not staying on property, you can buy one for about $13. Then you add your park ticket to it.

Memory Maker is a separate product you can buy in advance of your trip or in the beginning of your trip (usually about $169). For one price, you get all of your photos taken from photopass photographers plus all of your dining photos and ride photos. When you buy this, you can get a special photopass card (it's white with Mr. or Mrs. Incredible on it) to scan your photos on, or you can use your magic band which holds photos.

Hope this helps!

There is also a photographer at the tea party, so more photos!

When we were there a couple of years ago, there was not a photographer at the tea itself, though they did have someone take pic of the girls afterward. Has this changed? Does a photographer take pics during the tea party now?

Honestly I don't remember. Now that I think of it, they may only do the Wonderland tea party. Too many tea parties in one building!
