What are the differences between the Haunted Mansions of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom?

Well I dont want to spoil any surprises but the main differences I can remember are the designs of the outside of the building and the shrinking room. The Madame Leota room is slightly different and so is the ending.

Mansion experts want to help out here?? I can tell you more in detail in 2 weeks when I get back from DL!

The "stretching room" at DL is actually an elevator, taking guests down to an underground loading zone. The ceiling at WDW stretches up. Once guests leave this room, there is no walk through "grand hall" with changing pictures at WDW like there is at DL.

the hall with the "changing" portraits is the major difference in the interior. I really miss it when we are at WDW. and, of course, the exterior is alot different. I grew up in So Cal, so the exterior of the WDW version is "just not right" to me, but I suppose that is just me!

Another Southern CA native here and I am still in shock whenever I'm in MK for many reasons, I love noticing the differences, no matter how slight they are. Our upcoming trip will be my parents first WDW trip so I get to see them be shocked by the differences-hah-they think they know where everything is LOL!

Ha! That's so interesting. I feel that way about the outside of DL's, although I liked it too. I was there when it was made over for Nightmare Before Christmas, so things were different all around, but I thought the portrait walkthrough cut the ride too short. But then again, maybe that was just the result of "the HM on speed."
