Haunted Mansion with a FPP or wait till MNSSHP

We are planning our FastPass for one day that will also be a Party night for MNSSHP, which we also will be attending.

Wondering if the party overlay is worth just waiting to do until the party and use a FP on something else?

What is a typical wait time for HM during a party night?

wait til party time. lines are usually much faster. I think longest i waited was 10 minutes during the party

unless the ride is broken down, the line looks long but the wait usually isn't that bad as the ride is non-stop, they fill a room for teh pre-show, then open the doors and you move on to the ride.

You'll probably want to ride it during the party either way - it's just so tempting. In the past they've had character actors out front (I just don't know the names - a woman sitting out front and sometimes a man is with her - and they interact with the audience around them somewhat - they often draw a big crowd and they're very funny).

In general, I’d agree with PP that attraction lines are shorter during the party, but everyone seems to want to do HM during the party! So there can be a wait. But, as another poster said, it can look like a huge mob in that area but it probably won’t be that much of a wait. We did wait nearly 30 minutes one year, though. But it’s fun to be in that area, get spooky pics with the hearse, hear Carlotta (or...can’t remember the other name??) tell tales, and hopefully some other fun photo ops. I’d wait until it’s fully dark to get the full effect. It’s always a must for us on party night.

Unless I missed something, there is no party overlay for HM during MNSSHP. There are some additional exterior effects and the aforementioned characters, but no overlay such as the NBC additions at HM DLR.

Pp is correct; there is no overlay. There are ghosts on the lawn though, where the carriage is. You don’t need to ride it during the party to enjoy the ghosts on the lawn. Just go through the exit and stand in front of the lawn. It’s a much better way to enjoy the ghosts on the lawn since you are closer and can stay as long as you want. It’s hilarious! We watched for 20mn.

HM is so easy to get a 4th+ fp for I wouldn’t bother with it during the short, expensive party. I’d do party stuff.
