*UPDATE 5/22/2017* I randomly thought about this thread while on my trip this past weekend because Leota was not floating on our ride. I asked our VIP guide again and she said that just a couple weeks ago (from 5/20/17) Madame Leota has been grounded permanently due to the frequent breaking down of the levitating mechanism. She said that there's no current plans to get her flying any time soon. She also said if it did get fixed, it probably wouldn't be until the next major refurbishment.
Also fun fact I learned if you didn't know. The commonly seen "hidden mickey" of dinner plates in the ballroom scene is not an official hidden mickey. It was not placed there by the original imagineers, but instead a cast member one day.
