There are some recent reports that Leota's crystal ball floats, and others that it doesn't. It wasn't a couple of weeks ago either time I rode it, but as with anything like this I'm sure it's hit or miss.

I noticed last week that Madame Leota wasn't floating. I don't know how long it has been like that.

Went to Magic Kingdom maybe about a week ago to ride Haunted Mansion, and she wasn't floating. Not sure what happened. Maybe something for safety, or a mechanical issue?

Hmmm, now that I think about . . . over the years I think I have seen her both float or just "sit" on the table. I really gave it much thought before. No idea why it would be different - maybe just a glitch?

I also rode Haunted Mansion on Dapper Day, and it wasn't floating when I was on it. I rode it around 10:30 am.

Now that I think about it, I have seen it both ways through the years.

Interesting, It wasn't floating on our trip 4/19-4/27 any of the times we rode it. I thought maybe it broke.

Maybe it's just random? Some rides she floats, some she doesn't. No reason, just make it different.
We were there just before 4/22 and she was floating

I saw it tuesday and she was in the air but not moving up and down

She wasn't floating any of the times we rode it on 4/25 or 4/26.

Maybe it's just random? Some rides she floats, some she doesn't.

With the way the Doombuggies move in a continuous line, it wouldn't really be possible to make it "change between rides."

What might be happening is that she slowly floats up and/down... all the way to the table, and possibly stays low for
an extended duration.

(Or, something else, entirely.)

For some reason her "flying" mechanism is something that tends to go into down time a lot, basically almost daily*. As you know some rides have their "B-Mode", for example the Yeti on Expedition Everest has been in permanent B-Mode for years now (still waiting on that promise you made to fix it Joe Rhode). When Leota is grounded it is simply her B-Mode.

I guess that is more or less what I meant, that she had different positions she could be in so she changed between each person's ride. You explained it much more clearly than I did
