Haunted Mansion Overlay?

Hey all!

Does the Haunted Mansion usually reopen the last weekend in September or does in not usually open until the first weekend in October?

Just debating when to go mid September or the last week in September - HM reopening may sway our decision??

Although mid September would probably be less crowded..hmmm...

My guess is mid-Sept will be busy since 9-9-09 is the HM 40th celebration..I would do a search for previous threads on this, there are quite a few around somewhere.. There is talk whether it will even be closed at all due to the HM 40th..

There are, indeed, several threads on this topic, as the PP stated. IF Haunted Mansion Holiday were going up this year and it was a regular, non-40th anniversary year, chances are HMH would begin at the start of DLR's official Hallowentime season, which commenced on the last Friday in Setember last year, and the HM would be closed for about 2-1/2 weeks in September prior to that to install the HMH overlay. We don't know what will happen this year because of the 40th anniversary and the event on 9-9-09. We don't know if the HMH will happen at all this year, and if so, will ie start at the same time it normally would (end of September) or later in October, perhaps in time for Halloween.

Hopefully a nice Cast Member will tip us off when they find the schedule but I don't think they even know yet what is happening with the HMH this year.

HMH usually opens toward the end of Sept, but so far there hasn't been any official announcement.

Last year the dates to install the HMH overlay were officially announced in early June.

Has anyone heard any updates on this? I am going down Sept. 13th through the 19th and since I havent been able to go on HM because of the overlay in many years, I would love to know if I'm going to get a chance to ride it!

I haven't heard anything yet. I am hoping a nice Cast Member will tip us off as soon as they get the Halloweentime schedule. Because if we know that HMH is going up and on what date, then we will know when it will be shut down for the sintallation process.
