Haunted mansion Holiday decorate dates

And there are nine months of the year where it is in its original pristine condition for those of you. :)
Since we are counting, that would be 8 months. The regular ride is not available early September to early January.

As I have said I am not a fan of HMH but totally get why DLR does it and IASWH and SMGG. I like IASWH a lot, SMGG is pretty good, but HMH is not for me. But I still think should do it.

I also think DCA should get in on the action. Tower of Terror Holiday???

That is not enough for me. I want it all! And now. ;) No, really. :) Maybe one day. I can only hope. OK and maybe petition. Or own controlling shares of the corporation.

One person's junk is another person's reason to fly cross country... :rotfl:

And the first thing out of my kids mouths at our first MNSSHP/trip to WDW in September will be "what do you mean there is no JACK?!?!?!" I'm hedging bets on which one will notice him and Zero missing from the fireworks too.

refurb = "okey dokey" clean it up, paint it...

Closed to temporarily install characters that have no place in the ride's "story" whatsoever? = ":headache:"

Cant you see the difference between the two? The difference between Disneyland and Disney World and Knotts Berry farm or other amusement parks is the "story" behind the rides. The rides are simple and most of them have outdated transportation systems and technology, however, what makes them last through time is the "story" and the magic. If you put a stupid skeleton and his stupid skeleton dog in Haunted Mansion during certain times of year, the story is gone. Madam Leota no longer has meaning in the ride, it just Stinks up the whole ride. Crappy.

OK, HM has the least "story" of about any Disney attraction! I love it, but it's a collection of fairly random things from several ideas thrown together. HMH on the other hand to me has a story. In the context of Nightmare Before Christmas, Sandy Claws Jack happened on this deserted mansion in the bayou on his first stop - and had a rousing success! Little did he know that the houses of the living would not receive him so warmly.

The fact of the matter is the crowds. Even though HMH has basically stabilized, it continues to draw. Unlike the thankfully demised Tiki Room Under New Management at WDW, this is a change that is obviously embraced by more than hate it. I love it and wish it were at WDW too to give me more opportunities to see it!

Sure, story is great, but just a cool idea well thought out is great too. Like a early 20th century Missouri street with a Castle and Swiss mountain at the end.

I'll aggree with you when HMH lines are less than non-HMH lines.

I'm going on the record and saying I love Haunted Mansion Holiday!:rotfl2: I'm not even a big "Nightmare Before Christmas" fanatic like some of my friends are - and I certainly grew up with the original Haunted Mansion ride - but I love HMH because it's a fresh spin on an old ride. I love It's a Small World Holiday for the same reason. It doesn't need to make perfect sense to me in terms of storyline. It's just a way of breathing life into something old.

I would never want the original HM to be replaced year-round with a new theme, but I love that all of us - those in the pro-HMH camp and those in the anti-HMH camp - have a choice of riding two different versions of this ride each year, so everyone can be happy. I think it's a great compromise and privilege to be able to do that, and it's something we have that WDW doesn't have.

I especially love HMH for the ballroom scene alone and the intricately designed gingerbread house/coffin/graveyard centerpiece on the table (which changes design every year). I love the little evil gingerbread men that usually surround the centerpiece and the smell of gingerbread as you pass through that scene.
