haunted mansion hidden mickey plates MIA

I went on a Keys to the Kingdom tour ages ago. During the tour we were told that the plates in the dining room of HM are not an "official" hidden mickey - they were not designed as part of the ride to be a hidden mickey. Apparently, whenever a "honcho-type" comes through, that person puts the plates back properly. At some point, a cast member will go back to the scene and rearrange the plates to the hidden micky layout.

I don't know how accurate the story is, but I've seen the table arranged both ways...

Same goes for the "hidden warning" on the menu-board at the entrance to the library rooms at Tower of Terror.

Some playful ToT CM's will arrange a hidden "warning message" with the loose menu-board letters,
and that message can get removed by a CM who knows that the message is not part of the original set design for the area.

Coming directly from a HM castmember:

We like our Mickey Plates. Sometimes we even like mickey bowls-and-cups...
But some "higher level" cast members don't. And if they come by after our walk throughs, there will be no mickey plates that day.

Of course, it's because the management scolds the ghosts. And the ghosts put them back. Silly Caesar...

Also confirming that on October 7th, the plates were not arranged as normal. I happened to be taking some video of the scene with my digital camera (wanted to tape the new ending!). In what amounts to over a hundred trips though the mansion, this was a first for me.

They were set up as Mickey on 10/6 when we rode during the Halloween party.

We were just there on 10-8 and they were there on the end of the table, left hand side. But maybe the Happy Haunts have been playing games with everyone!

Saw them there yesterday 10/10.

Late reporting this but for the first time in over 30 trips we saw the Mickey head gone on the table on our trip March 28-April 5th. I am not sure of the exact day though. I was so surprised to see it gone!!!!

The thread is 3 years old, so yeah, kinda late. And as was said multiple times 3 years ago: the heads go away, and then they come back, and then they go away and then they come back, rinse, repeat.
