Our last trip was in 2003 on our honeymoon. I keep hearing they changed the HM after that sometime.

What was changed? (Not the overlay..the regular)

I haven't seen it yet either since it was closed last time we went, but I heard they redid the attic scene with the bride.

Madam Leota's room is also slightly different, in a very cool way. I don't want to spoil it for you, unless you want it spoiled.

When they revamped WDW, they made several of the DL changes, plus added some unique features, like an Escher room. Their layout is much different than ours, so they have the space to do that. (For those not familiar with WDW - you board the Doombuggies immediately, and ride through the portraits, the bust room/library, etc. - they have their own "rooms". Here, we walk through all of that since we have to get under the train tracks and into the show building. )

At DL the HM got some new sound and some small effects changes. Yes madam Leota got a little change herself, but the biggest change is the attic scene. They have a new theme and new bride.

I think the theme is very detailed and pretty cool, but not to bias you, I HATE the new bride. But that is just me. I guess the face of the girl they used is from Buffy or something, but some one will have to give you more details cause I can't remember. :)

I love in the attic during the holidays, just as you are leaving to go to the cemetery, look to your extreme left and there is a toy monkey dressed like the bride with a glowing heart. I always look for it. I'll look again tomorrow. He was there last year.

I also haven't seen the new HM but I will in april. When I go next month it'll have the overlay which I am making a special trip just to see!!!

A toy monkey? I do not believe that I have noticed that. But then, I am so busy looking around, that I can see how I may have missed it.
Oh, silly me! first missing the monkey, possibly. Then run on sentences, which make some poor people feel lost apparently, when attempting to read my posts.
Yes, changes were made to the attic scene. I do like them. However, I am quite the purist. So therefore, would have preferred that those changes not be made.
I love the Haunted Mansion. It is one of two of my most favorite ride attractions. Which has been the case for as long as I can remember.
Alas, I hope that anyone that might read this post, does not become "lost" by doing so. I would not want someone else on this site, to have some kind of melt down, over it. Poor thing!

Hm, that is a good question, if the toy monkey is there year round. I just do not recall seeing it at the Gracey Mansion (the toy monkey) :rotfl2:

Hey how did you like the HMH?? My hubby and I are making a special trip in december so we can see it!

Ummm... I LOVED it.
But then again, I go all the time during the overlay. I can never get enough of it :).
I really like all the decorations that they add, and when you go, take a whiff of the dining hall scene... You'll smell gingerbread to the ad nauseum! :rotfl:

I LOVED THE NEW CHANGES!!! They were just awesome! You will really enjoy it as well. I found them quite noticeable. They didnt change things drastically but just enough that you will probably stop and think for a second and then go "Oh yeah"
