Haunted Mansion Closing Dates

I'm planning to go to Disneyland September 9th - 13th. I've grown up going to Disney World but it's my first time at Disneyland, and I'm super excited, the only thing that worries me is when does the Haunted Mansion close for the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay? Will I be missing it and will it be open the whole time I'm there, or will it be closed? Someone help me out!

FWIW, here's the info for the last couple of years:

HM was closed to install the overlay on the following dates:

August 30 (Monday) - September 16 (Thursday), 2010
August 29 (Monday) - September 15 (Thursday), 2011

Sorry to say but I would expect it to be closed at least through Sept. 13 just based on the past few years. Disney won't make any official announcement of this though for at least a couple months still probably.

Yeah Im so glad to be going in a couple days just because of that, the last few years we've gone it was closed to get it ready for halloween. We always go in early September I dont think Ive ridden HM since I was 5!

The Halloween Season has now been announced to start on the 14th of September. It is possible that the HMH and SMGG will soft open before the 14th.

That really stinks, its like one of the most perfect times to go, except for HM being closed/nightmare themed.

I have sort of the same question......only I need to know when HM is usually closed for holiday overlay to come off after Christmas holidays.....we're arriving at DLR on 1/12/13 and departing the morning of 1/18/13

It usually closes right when the Holiday end and takes a couple week to remove the overlay. I'm sorry this will probably be during your dates on the 7th through 18th.
