I think his name is Horace Fusslebottom. Correct me if i'm wrong.
They didn't tell us on the KTTK tour, but they did tell us the dog is modeled after Walt's dog and is the same dog seen in Carousel of Progress and I forget what else.
I don't know about Walt's dog but it can't be the same dog as in COP...HM dog is brown and short haired and isn't the COP dog gray and white and shaggy?
Edited to add: Searched online for pictures and can see a bit of a resemblence but it is difficult because the HM dog looks so skinny and sad.
Yeah, the poster is confused. The COP dog IS modeled after Walt's dog...it's also the same dog on PotC, not HM. The Haunted mansion dog is a different dog. My DW always feels sorry for that poor dog!
I can't answer the OP question though - but my guess is he DOES have a name.

Thanks for all the answers everyone. It looks like Horace is coming up more as a search term then Dick. But that site Little Miss posted was great.
Thanks again, our Owners Locker now has a name.![]()
I've always felt really bad for him!
Horace Fusslebottom (The Groundskeeper)
The groundskeeper of Gracey Mansion. He is terrified of the mansion, but works there everynight so that he can dine on his wife's grave with her. The Groundskeeper character was to appear in the Haunted Mansion movie, being played by Don Knotts, but these scenes were cut before filming. A ghostly version of the groundskeeper still appears in the movie in the Graveyard scene.
Dick ODell and his dog "Bony" are the only mortal residents in the Mansion. Born to an immigrant gravedigger and a gypsy, Dick was considered slow-witted and did poorly in school. When his parents were killed in a carnival ride accident, Dick joined the carnival as a ride operator. He traveled with the show until 1971, when the carnival went broke while in Florida. Dick then joined the Walt Disney World cast as caretaker of the Haunted Mansion. He was given his own room in the Mansion, but can never find it, so he usually sleeps in the blue room with "Bony". Asked how "Bony" got his name, Dick says, "Somebody was going by and said Look at the bony dog, so I call him bony. Bonys my best friend even though I forget to feed him sometimes." Bony mainly lives on the mice he catches, with an occasional treat of popcorn, candy, or ice cream left behind by the Guests.
After all these years of living and working in the Mansion, Dick is still frightened by its ghoulish inhabitants, his knees constantly knocking in fear. Asked why he doesnt leave, Dick replies, "Im scared the ghostsd follow me home!"
