This is my very, very, very favourite ride... and possibly favourite place on earth! (I'm sure you never would have guessed) We are going to WDW in two weeks and will be attending MVMCP... which brings me to the point of this post. I have never, in the multitude of times I've ridden it, ridden the Haunted Mansion at NIGHT!!!! So I'm very excited and was wondering if there any differences or special things to notice? (like outside for instance) Thanks in advance!

The only difference we have noticed is that the mood seems to be a tad bit more in place for a haunted mansion at night. LOL If you look up at the top of the mansion in the window you see what appears to be movement. I wont spoil the fun by going into detail as to what it is, I will leave that to your imagination when you see it. During MNSSHP they do add mist and a live talking ghost outside the mansion. The ghosts keeps you entertained at night.

Hope this helps.

Once we were there for an e ride night...we specifically made sure we were at the haunted mansion at midnight !!! it was just a fun thing to do at night...it adds to the setting. Have fun...

Please post about what the refurbishments are on the Haunted Mansion. It was closed November 6-15. I am hoping they brought back the "Donald" chair.

We rode it several times in a row last year at night during Night of Joy. It was great, the graveyard scenes and exterior decor really seems spooky at night.

We went for MNSSHP and it was a bit spookier. Funny thing was while in line I was joking around with my DD11 about being scared and trying to scare her. A CM must have noticed me doing that so he put us in our car, stared at me, then when I thought he was gone he popped up on the side of the car and scared the life out of me!! It was quite funny though.

The fun thing about going at night, is it seems to be more adults and they get a little silly. :rotfl: There is ALWAYS someone (usually a large group or ALL of the people) that scream when the lights go out...the CMs often try to scare you a bit more, which causes more hilarity from those inside. During MNSSHP and e-ride nights, we have always found this to be the case and just laugh and enjoy it.

The best thing about going at night is to take your time approaching the Mansion and appreciate the lighting of the mansion and the effects in the windows. You really do not get the total affect of this during the day. As stated the CMs to seem to get more into their part at night and have a tendency to hide and suddenly appear out of nowhere to scare you especially when you line up outside. :earseek:
