Just curious......as I have seen in some recent posts for Disney allowing for weddings to be conducted in the parks during off hours...has anyone asked for or used the Haunted Mansion as a potential site.

Yes I know this sounds morbid.....however I am a Halloween nut and have business dealings in the Haunted Attraction industry.

Again just curious as I think it would be a very cool place for a vow renewal, etc.

I have no idea - sorry I'm no help - but I wanted to say that is such a cool idea! Halloween is my favorite holiday too and that would be so great!

I think it would be an awesome site. Not sure if they would let you use it. I believe the new minimum for a MK wedding is $500,000 and I think you cannot start until 8:00 pm at the earliest and thats only when the park closes at 6:00 pm.

KatiebugsMom, Halloween is my favorite day out of the entire year. Sadly, we got married on October 27th -- but if that date would have fallen through, we would have gotten married on Halloween. Halloween is actually the day that my husband and I met. It is also the day that my husband first proposed. As you can imagine, that day holds a lot of significance for me. ;)

I considered both the Tower of Terror and the Haunted Mansion attractions for my FTW vow renewal. I wrote about it in a trip report: click here. My husband ruled out the Tower of Terror even though I really loved the idea of having a party there (it's one of my all-time favorite rides). I ruled out the Haunted Mansion since we had celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary on the ballroom set of the "Haunted Mansion" movie. I thought the attraction would be too similar of an experience to the movie set. We wound up going with the Great Movie Ride for our vow renewal’s dinner party and it was the perfect venue for us.

Now, with all that being said, I would love to have a party at either the Tower of Terror or the Haunted Mansion at some point in the future. Both venues are unique and very fun. If you want to hold your wedding reception at the Haunted Mansion attraction, just let your FTW Sales Manager know. They can put together a proposal for you.

Back on the old FTW website, one of the featured weddings was a vow renewal that took place in the Haunted Mansion. So, at the very least, it was possible at one time. I don't know about know, or what the pricing would be. From the looks of the pictures the wedding on the FTW website seemed to take place during the day.

I should mention that the guest list size is limited at the Haunted Mansion attraction. Tables may be set up in the stretching rooms (of which there are two) and also in the foyer. Since the rooms are somewhat small, that limits the number of guests that may dine there. Your Sales Manager will go over all this when you discuss it with him or her.

For a theme park event, it must be held after hours. Disney normally requires a minimum of 90-minutes after a theme park has closed before your event can begin. Depending upon the venue, they may push that time out further (two hours, etc.). Again, your Sales Manager will discuss all this with you.

I have seen photos of events that have been held inside the Haunted Mansion attraction. It looks like an incredible venue. And perfect for us Halloween lovers. ;)

One final thing to keep the excitement going over the Haunted Mansion venue...

On the night before my vow renewal, I hosted a Welcome Party at the Grand Floridian. Since my Event Manager knew of Halloween’s significance to me, he gave my party a wonderful Halloween theme, even right down to the attire that the Wait Staff wore:

As you just saw, the Wait Staff was attired in official Haunted Mansion outfits. They also had very eerie face makeup. It was simply to die for. ;)

I should note that the Wait Staff was not allowed to speak during my party. Well, at least that’s what the kids thought and it drove them bonkers. Both my nephew and my daughter tried their hardest to get the Wait Staff to say something to them but the Wait Staff kept their lips sealed. I loved it. Anything that drives my little ones crazy is all right by me.

I have read that during a Haunted Mansion event, the Wait Staff do not usually speak. They *grunt* and make other non-speaking noises. I find the whole thing too cute for words. I am glad that they applied that same principal to my party (at least in regards to the children).

Thanks for the answers.....I thought I had read a long time ago on the FTW page about some kind of party/reception at the Haunted Mansion. Plus that and with the options for park weddings is what brought this to the fore front of my mind. Tower of Terror is another cool suggestion....... Never looked at it in that light.

Very cool to have the servers dressed in HM garb. Too bad anything I would wear would put them to shame..... :rotfl2: Don't mean to trash them. Just mine are better.

You and I are of one mind when it comes to Halloween. I live, eat, breath the holiday 24/7 365 days a year......If you would like to see me in Halloween action look up the Nationally reknowned attraction I work for. Castle Blood at www.castleblood.com I am known as Tia Diabla or Lady Die.

The coolest thing in my entire Disney life I have ever done was dress villanously for the This is Love event in Feb 2004. It was a costume after hours event when I was going to be there at WDW on my 2nd honeymoon. Never would I have been able to go decked out during October for MNSSHP since I am working the season. So this was my once in a lifetime chance to do the thing I wanted most. Dress up and be in the MK......

Well anyway this is definitely something I will have to put in the pocket of possibilities. I just think it would be so cool to say I love you with the end all of Halloween attractions as your background. If my husband never gives in to this then I think it would be a very cool surprise for a certain couple I am friends with.

As for size.......any gathering would be at the most 10 if that, so things would be real intimate.

Well, you work at a place with "Blood" in the title. The servers at my party work at a place with the name "Disney" in the title. There's a big difference in how far Disney is willing to push the scary theme, don't you agree?! ;)

I would definitely love to see you in your work clothes. Please post a link to a photo or two. (I took a quick look through the site that you posted, but I couldn't figure out if any photos of you were posted there.)

I almost attended that event. I was very tempted to. I hope you had a wonderful time (it sounds like you did).

Yes, do keep it in your bag of tricks. You never know where life will lead you and it's always nice to be prepared.

Ten people will definitely fit quite nicely inside the Haunted Mansion attraction. It would make for a very intimate party. For my 19th wedding anniversary, there were eleven people (we dined on the movie set, though). It was intimate (and fun).

Oh I LOVE HM,I think it is so cool to have a wedding there...I love halloween themed weddings!!!

Whoa, that's AWESOME! I never even thought to do something like that :hyper:

OUR WEDDING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON HALLOWEEN!!!! but since dis changed its photography policy it is now going to be in sept.. but thats ok, cause halloween in 2009 falls on a sat, perfect time for an at home reception(halloween costume party!!):rotfl2:

If you didn't pay want to pay the MK minimums, I have seen several pics of couples who took advantage of their MK photo shoots and used the Mansion. This way you could have the pics.. and pay no where near the theme park minimums!!
