Haunted Mansion Alone?

Whether or not you can skip the stretching room is 100% at the discretion of whatever Cast Member happens to be on duty at the time.

This is true in California as well. I just asked last week and was told it depends on how they are staffed, as it requires a CM be dedicated to escorting you.

Like a lot of things posted here (piloting the Mark Twain, riding in the Lilly Belle at DL, etc), it is not a guarantee, and as more and more people ask, it seems less and less likely.

I go solo all the time and ride HM. I love that attraction.

It doesn't take long to ride - I think it's around 8 minutes once you get in a doom buggy.

My son first rode it at 18 months and has ridden each of his 8 times to DW. He is a little scared in the stretching room. But when he was younger I would just tell him to close his eyes. As far as the other part, if your DD starts getting scared, start talking about the hidden mickeys, that will take her mind off of it. And then at the end the hitchhiking ghosts are actually the other part that scares my son. So maybe prepare her for that. Last time he rode it on his 7th birthday, he was happy that the ghost had to sit on top of the buggy since there was him, his friend and her dad in the buggy. No room for the ghost, I'm guessing.

Thanks for the responses. I asked my DD again tonight if she'll go on the Haunted Mansion with me and she said 'yes', so crossing my fingers. She did go on a regular amusement park one too in the summer and I just put my arm around her and she was ok (but the chickened out to go again).

Ah yes...the ghost at the end. That's the one part I remember from when I rode it at 6 years. Thought that was very cool! Don't remember the stretching room though, but it sounds a bit creepy for a 5 year old.

Anyway, good to know if DD doesn't want to join me, that its still ok to go alone (as long as I don't chicken out...lol)

My DS9 has been on a typical amusement park haunted house and was not amused. :lmao: So he's totally not interested.
I did try to show a clip to DD5 but it's hard to see as it's dark. She is cute how she'll say "I'll come with you mommy" but then asks if its scary.

One question...I've heard that the stretching room is the real scary part. Is it true that you can skip this and go right to the buggy?

I'm claustrophobic and a wuss. If there is no line, I ask the CM before I enter the line if I can please skip the stretching room. I've never been told no. But I only do this if there is no line, so they don't think I am just trying to cut.

The way they will bring you is through a door at the exit (I used to be a custodian in MK and was in charge of the HM breakroom bathroom, which is how I first figured out I could skip the dreaded stretching room when I rode!)

Good tip. Thanks. :thumbsup2
