Haunted House Attractions

Well, I do plan on hitting one haunted house attraction in about a week - the one at Disneyland! I hear it's pretty good.... 😁

Seriously, there is a good haunted attracton in town that I sometimes go to. I missed last year as I was on a Disney trip when my friends went. I might check it out this year. It's really good and they do cool special effects. They change it up some every eyar, with soem reamining hte same. It takes a good 30 to 45 minutes to get through it.

I will never forget having to go out the walk of shame at Ripley's because my DSS12 at the time freaked out. It was his idea to go.

We still tease him (now 35) 😂

Don't really do that, but when we had a Six Flags membership (charged monthly) we would actually go almost every night around Fright Fest just for dinner. They did have warnings to not come into direct contact with any of the performers (most were referred to as "zombies"), but occasionally some of the performers didn't respect that some children might not like that level. We never went into any of the premium areas. They did have a small trick or treat maze and sometimes they'd hand stuff over to adults. The one thing my kid really didn't like was this guy with a chainsaw. It had no chain, but the idea was that the performer carried it menacingly like he was ready to attack someone. This was right outside an area with kiddie rides.

One year we did visit a pumpkin farm and paid $10 for the kids stuff like a maze of hay bales. That and once we went to the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival.

I was the local Haunted garage attraction for 25 years. The kids had to crawl through appliance boxes and look through cut-outs to see the setup. I enjoy seeing what others have done. I saw a really huge and elaborate one last year with some very sophisticated decorations.

This is TOP LEVEL built - own their building so they don't have to break it down. VERY impressive.

Last time we were waiting in line and their "lead" ghoul came up to us. He said in the creepiest voice "Oh you are a long way from (insert city name). I'll be sure to say hello when I see you next". It was wild since it turned out to be a kid who worked at a restaurant we went to. He voice was completely different and terrifying!!!

And we have Fright Fest at Six Flags with a few houses.

Me too!!! Had two tents on the drive plus the garage. Front yard was the cemetery. 3 weeks to build. Had so much fun!!! I think there are still a few bodies standing up in the attic. My one neighbor said to his kid "XXX is making memories for you!" Now not sure they are good dream memories but so be it.

I’ve been to Busch Gardens Hollow Scream once and that was enough. I’m a big screamer and scare easily and I was more afraid is hit a person from the terror squads and go to jail .

I’ve kind of wanted to do “ghost tour” but I’m afraid I’d “feel” something and the city where I work in is pretty haunted and where I used to work out had something there that I didn’t feel comfortable being in a certain building.

Plus I get scared watching Travel Channel most haunted places lol

I won’t. They are too scary. I went to one of the biggies around here years ago and won’t ever again.

Definitely! Spooky season is my Christmas! We're headed down to Orlando for the month of October for Halloween Horror Nights, plus we'll hit some of the local haunts around there. A Petrified Forest is particularly good https://www.apetrifiedforest.com/

Before we leave, we're going to hit New Orleans Nightmare https://neworleansnightmare.com/ Haven't tried that one yet, so I'm excited for something new.

I've done haunts all over the country in my travels. Two of the best were a haunted jail in Nashville, set in an actual jail that's actually haunted, and a haunted hayride somewhere in rural Tennessee. On the hayride, a super scary clown actually boarded the wagon, scared the heck out of everyone! Met him later at the bonfire....it was a 13 year old kid! That kid needs to get himself an agent, he's a fantastic actor!!

I used to work for Terror on Church Street, and I was a scareactor at HHN one year. I've also run several haunts, both for the RV park where we used to winter when we were full-timing and for the housing association where we used to live. It's so much fun!

I am NOT a haunted house person :sad2:
I’m not scared of them, I’m just disturbed by them.

*This does not include The Haunted Mansion or any fun places that are similar to that.

We’re season pass holders at Kings Dominion and plan to go some weekend soon for their Halloween fest. We go into one or two of the haunted attractions but mostly just enjoy the outdoor shows and atmosphere.

I like to do the "ghost walks" and stuff like that, but I hate haunted houses. The performers always get too close, and nowadays everything is zombie themed and I hate zombies. I also hate blood and guts, and most of the attractions around here cop out to that stuff as "scary" instead of creating a good narrative that makes your spine tingle.

Just give me good old fashioned ghosts and skip the mass murderers, zombies, escaped convicts, and what have you. We do have a fun corn maze around here with some "haunted" scarecrows and Jack Pumpkinhead type things and that's pretty fun.

Not really my jam. Either they're ridiculous or they veer into the disturbing ultra-gore stuff which I'm just not interested in.

We tend to go to corn maize type places. Neither kid really likes the spooky stuff, even as teens. I still love a great haunted house.

My wife buys one of those lighted necklaces so that the ghouls don’t approach her.
