Looks like there will no longer be a Haunted Hayride, sad to see it go. I don't see the Carriage Ride being nearly as popular (although to be honest, the Haunted Hayride didn't exactly fill the seats either). Personally, I think this is a total ripoff, and I doubt I'll ever go on this, 60 bucks for a Haunted Carriage Ride doesn't really seem worth it, I would rather just go on the regular carriage ride. Although I guess if you had 4 adults paying it wouldn't be that bad...lol

We have told alot of people to just show up for the haunted wagon rides, I hope they see this. Nice find Chris.

I am so disappointed. We were looking forward to this. We can't even do the carriage ride, because we would have to take 2. So disappointed :confused3

Yea, I was really looking forward to taking the DS on the hayride one day. Maybe we'll still do the carriage ride if it's around when he's old enough, just to experience it.

Darn it that was one of my scheduled activities and now I'm going to have to schedule something else to fill that slot in my detailed planning spreadsheet. :rotfl:

Actually I really was planning on doing that as the boys would like it but oh well I guess we'll find something else to do.

We went last year on the new revised HHR and it was not good...we felt we wasted our money so I'm not heartbroken....I'm sure we will still have lots of fun without it but its a shame they stopped the old one!!!!

Colson,

you may be right about this but I think the HHR might have just needed a rest and some fresh ideas. It's been a couple years since we went but we enjoyed it.

The kids (15, 13, 10) still talk about it but as they've aged it's gone from "wasn't that scary" to "I wasn't scared".....:rotfl2:

Yea, I hope they bring it back, as much as I probably would enjoy a "haunted" carriage ride, the HHR always seemed way more appealing.

And your family's still small enough to fit in the carriage! ;)

That carriage size cuts out a lot of families, including mine!

...would have liked to try it someday too!

I am surprised by this change. The hayrides have been very popular. The wagon that was used could hold 30+ people, and was always full. With three wagons per time slot, there is going to be a lot more traffic on the 300 loop (assuming that the new carriage rides follow the same path).

I am also surprised that they are going back to the Sleepy Hollow theme. Last year, the theme was changed to Vineland. You can read my complete report here:

TCD's 2007 Haunted Hayride Report

In March of this year, they repeated the Vineland hayrides. Maybe it will be Sleepy Hollow in the Fall and Vineland in the Spring?

The cost of this will actually work out to be the same for my family, so we are going to give it a whirl. No worries, I will post my complete report. :thumbsup2

Wait TCD, they're going back to the Headless Horseman???? man, if they are, I might have to go on the carriage ride this year, I really want to see that!!

I too am surprised they got rid of the hayride, I think I mispoke when I said it didn't fill the seats, I was talking about the regular hayride, my bad on that.

Well, the info posted says that the theme will be the Legend of Sleepy Hollow- that is the hayride that used to have the Headless Horseman (until last year). I guess they could do the Legend of Sleepy Hollow without the Headless Horseman, but I don't think that would go over real well.

I will give you a report on it after I give it a try to let you know for sure.

Yea, if I hear that they have the Headless Horseman, I'm definitely going to try to set that up for Halloween, that would be awesome.

We too were planning to go on the haunted hayride, but we are also a family of 5 and so we won't be taking a carriage ride either, 2 carriages is 1 carriage too many for us...
I just get so upset when everything is geared to parties of 4..:confused3

Does anyone know if the 4 person per carriage is a set rule or just a suggestion?
Just wondering if they might allow small children to sit on parents laps.

We were really looking forward to the hayride but not enough to pay for 2 carriages. :scared1:

I don't know what to do about this. I actually booked the HCR today for my family. The only problem is that I have a 3YO DD and 1.5YO DS. I'm worried that it may be too scarey for them. I called Disney today and they said that nothing is too scarey at Disney. I need feedback on this. The cool thing is that we'll be on the very first carriage ride on 10/3 at 7:30!

I booked today for my daughters birthday for 10-18. We are super excited and hoping that the headless horseman rears his ugly head for the ride! I know this is a little costly but if they do it up in true Disney style I bet it will be worth every penny and then some. JMHO. Hope everyone enjoys!!

Does anyone know if there is any Annual Passholder,AAA/CAA or DVC discounts offered on the carrige rides?

I just did a quick search but couldn't find any discounts. I believe you still have to pay in cash or room card, maybe that's why.

Thank you...I was not sure. Does anyone know if they need a credit card to hold it when you book it?
