I read on another post that someone reckoned they were growing a corn field between the parks for HHN. Im not sure how true this is but cornfields REALLY scare me !!!
Well, I think that with movies like "Children of the Corn" and "Signs" they might be able to make it a little scary...throw in a little fog and I think it can work.
Tigger&Belle ...LOL...yes cornfields like from Children of the Corn! I live in a town so none near here but I have always been scared of things running out of the corn in the dark!! ...and I am going to HHN on my own....
Yes, cornfields can be scary. As a child, it is like being lost in a dense forest/jungle where you cannot see in front of you and while walking through it, you are constantly being touched by the leaves and cornsilk . Being in a cornfield, you feel like it has no end and you may never find a way out because the corn is too tall to see over and too dense to see through.
How many scary movies have cornfields in their storyline? Of course, Children of the Corn is the one that comes to mind, but there is also Pumpkinhead, Signs, and my favorite was a Twilight Zone episode that was also featured in the Twilight Zone movie. It was where Billy Mumy as Anthony Fremont banishes people to the cornfield when he doesn't like them. http://www.tzworld.com/ITSAGOODLIFE_EP.html

That explains it--I'm a weenie when it comes to scary movies so I haven't watched many cornfield movies. I have to hide my eyes or leave the room when the suspense gets to be too much, but haunted forests and houses don't bother me at all. I'd love to go to the HHN and my DH and I might be in Orlando in early October.
Wow Denise, you're brave, I'm far too much of a woos to go to HHN, obviously using the kid's ages as my excuse though - goodness knows what I'm going to do when they're old enough!
Now I know the reason for my problems. I was born in Iowa. That is the buckle of the corn belt!
It might be scary to some but Iowa still produces one tenth of the World's food supply. And I thought in "Field of Dreams" it was Heaven? My Dad always pronounced it "I-O-A".
