Hats in Restaurants

Was at our local (North Carolina) McDonald's yesterday and counted 4 men, seated, eating and wearing hats (baseball caps). All of the men were elderly southern farmers. I'm on the board of director's for a large southern insurance company. At every meeting there are at least 2 men in hats.

My DH and my kids remove hats in restaurants. That being said in Disney, it would not bother me if they didn't. Here is why: being out in the sun and sweating, getting wet. The hair is usually pretty beat down. I wear a hat in Disney and embarrassed at my hair underneath the hat!! Lol

Agree!

My baseball cap keeps my face out of the sun; gives me hat head too : (

Wide brimmed hats and other...should not be worn to dinner and if having lunch indoors it should be removed and given to coat-check.

This makes a good rule of thumb for my hats indoor feelings. If there's a coat check at the restaurant you're dining at, hats would be a no-no but only the nicest places have them these days. Any place below that standard of quality, I honestly didn't realize it was still a thing and I tease family about fork zig-zagging ;)

I was raised that your hat comes off at the table, so that is how I have raised my kids too. To me it is just part of our table manners. I really don't care what other people choose to do at their own tables.
