Does anyone know if they sell any kind of soft hats at DW. My mother in law was suppose to go with us but has been diagnosed with cancer and due to taking chemo is unable to risk being around anyone sick. I was wondering if they had a place that had hats I would love to able to bring her one back. thanks in advance.
:)

What kind of hat did you have in mind? I have seen lots of different kinds. Really funny ones that are kind of made out of felt. Then there are different kinds of baseball types. I don't think the Mickey ears ones are too soft. They had winter knit types when I was there last December.
Maybe you could find her something else. Maybe Mickey ear rings. Perhaps get your family's picture taken with her favorite character.
I hope the treatments are successful...

When you say "chemo" hats, do you mean the scrub hats like the ones OR nurses wear? If you do, there are a few scrub outlet stores that had Disney character hats when I was up there last May. I would assume that you could probably stop by any uniform store that sells scrubs in the Orlando area and find something with a mickey on it. I'm totally basing that off of assumption but it's worth a shot. As far as actually selling them on Disney property, I really have no idea. You could ask the CM at check-in and if they do, they will lead you in the right direction.

Have a great trip.

If memory serves me correctly, there is a hat place just past the flag on the right before you are walking main street. Lots of hats to choose from.

thanks everyone for the responses. I was really looking for any kind of soft hat since the chemo will make her hair fall out she is looking for some soft hats not really baseball caps. I will check out the hat store maybe they will have something

There's also the pirate bandannas with ears & an earring. Sold near POTC.

See if you can find some terry cloth turbans.... and maybe sew some ears on them... :0)

I've moved this thread to the disABILITIES! board. You should get even more great responses here. :)

Hey Brad,
I crochet Chemo Hats, i will be glad to make her some, just let me know. Prayers w/ her and the Family:grouphug:

I went to WDW during my prep for my second round of treatment (hair was up to about 1/2-1 inch back out), and I still sported my wig some of the time. It was so hot that I had to seek out hats to cover my face and healing neck tissue. They had a lot of hats at the hat store on Main Street in MK and also in Downtown Disney. I still have one hat that was kind of a big floppy straw and then a soft cotton hat (think fisherman floppy, downward pointing brim that is uniform in length all the way around). It was white and lovely. It could be washed as well, which was super-important to me. The radiation treatments left me hot and cold and everything had to be washed a lot.

My thoughts and best wishes extend to your mom and your family! It's rough, but she'll fight through it! The hat will make her day!

Oh! And if you go in winter, they have the cutest Santa hats with Mickey ears on them. (You can also check in the Disney outlet in the outlet store in Orlando, if you run out of time near/in the parks)
