We are headed to Typhoon Lagoon today and I was wondering if it's okay to wear a baseball cap and sunglasses on the tamer slides. I don't care if the cap gets wet.

You'll be able to wear them but on some slides they will make you hold them in your hands. These are usually the more intense rides. If it has a tube you ride down on you can probably keep them on. I always have my sunglasses because they are Rx and I can't see a thing without them. Make sure the hat doesn't have a metal buckle on it though as they may not allow that.

@BrianL - how do you cope with splashes on your lenses? I'm really really short sighted, and so I need to have something with my prescription in order to get around safely (vision blurs out under a ft!) but I'm also really sensitive to the bright light due to a different problem with my vision. (So my prescription goggles might not be good enough). I really want to do water parks, but I'm worried about being safe to walk around without a hand to hold at all times, which I need if I don't wear my glasses!!

Honestly, I don't do anything about it. They get wet and I see drops. I shake off excess water and let they dry in the sun between one slide and the next. It's not ideal but better than being blind. I clean them very well after I am done.

I don't do the extreme slides. And my hat doesn't have metal.

Then no worries. The attendant will tell you if you need to take them off, and then all you have to do is hold them. They will ask you to do that with water shoes too if you are wearing them.

I wore my glasses on all but 1 or two of those super fast slides. The occasionally asked me to hold them in my hand, but I could put them right on after

I sort of stopped noticing the splashes, but I whenever I passed somewhere selling food I'd grab a napkin and wipe them down

@BrianL and @Kathryn777 - thank you! That's actually very helpful, and I'm feeling less worried about it now! I'll probably take my old sunglasses for water park days as the prescription isn't too far wrong, but I like that a lot better than uncomfortable goggles all day with no UV protection!
