Sitting here watching my son who is 10, but my only child so my baby sleeping finally. He has had stomach flu since Sunday night. Threw up once but has had the other since Monday. Also on Monday spiked a fever of 104 for several hours, it was a scary time. Haven't had that happen since he was 2. Well here it is Thursday, low fever finally of 99, but now is complaining of headache and chills. Finally got him to sleep, I dare not to move. We are going to doctor this afternoon. Being a mom it just is so hard to watch your children be sick . Wish it were me and he could be outside playing heck even at school. Hopefully this is the tail end of this nasty flu!

DD, 17, also started with the stomach flu on Sunday. By Tuesday night we were in the ER getting IV fluid and medication for nausea. She is finally keeping liquids down and we are going to try her today on some chicken noodle soup. She hasn't kept any solid food down since this started on Sunday.

I hate it when she is sick. I worry about her grades and making up the missed work. I also feel like it is a wasted week for me because I really don't get much done. I hope your little guy is better soon. I didn't think it would hang on this long!

Both of my kids just had that. DS7 had a 104.1 fever, which was his highest ever. It was awful! I hope both of your kids feel better soon.

I know how you feel. If only it could be us instead.

My DS15 (tomorrow) got it 2 weeks ago, and it came with the fever, 3 days later DD11 caught it for 3 days both ways. Monday she started to complain of a sore stomach, and BAM again both ways with a fever. She is finally back to normal and in school today. I had to wait for her to be 24hrs fever free.

Springtime seems to be the high season for this, with everything unfreezing, at least it seems that way to me.

I hope he feels better soon, and NOBODY else catches it. I opened all my windows today, and hopefully finally get rid of it.

I agree. I hate watching my children suffer from being sick. I hope your DS gets better soon.

My oldest DS came down with the stomach flu two days ago. Last time he had it (4 years ago), he almost had to be hospitalized due to dehydration. He is pretty much over it now. However, we leave for Disney this Saturday, and I am freaking out that one of my other children will come down with it Friday night or Saturday. If they get it and we're already there, fine, but I am praying we can fly down there before anyone else comes down with something.

I hate it too :(

This time of year is terrible. DS, 2, has been battling a bad cold with on and off temperature for two weeks!!

A few weeks ago, my 9 yo dd was sick with a fever and stuffy nose. Her temp was 101-103 all day and then she got up in the evening and was hallucinating! Scariest thing I have seen, she thought there were people in her bedroom and she was seeing spiders. I just about took her to the ER, and then she started acting normal and her fever was going down. I hate seeing my kids so miserable though when they get sick.

DD12 has been suffering with some type of bug this week. Her symptoms have been headaches, bodyaches, diarehia (a few times) and stomache aches, but no fever. I'm not sure what it is......

I too felt and feel helpless other than to offer comfort and provide medicine to alleviate her pain.

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Me too....hate when my kids are sick..
I have another post on here about my oldest dd having something wrong with her....and it breaks my heart. It could be a long-term thing.

DS18 said he has been in bed the past 2 days just feeling miserable. He has been sleeping a lot and coughing a lot-which leads me to think maybe pneumonia, but with him away at college I can't tell. He has an appointment in the student health center tomorrow. Nothing quite as bad as being away from home when you are sick.

Took my DS to the doctor this afternoon. The poor guy couldn't even make it there without being sick. Once there he did receive 2shots. It has subsided with him feeling nauseous but still in the bathroom, just not as severe. Anyway the pediatrician has said this strain of the stomach flu is something fierce. Starts off hard accompanied by high fever then subsides and then comes back full force.

Stay healthy and to those of you with sick ones I wish them a speedy recovery. :grouphug:

Thank you for the well wishes for my son!:flower3:

My 14yodd had the flu last week and she gave it to me starting Thur. I am finally better.

What is worse is when your college kid is stuck in a dorm or in CHINA sick and you can't do a thing but worry about them. Now that I really hate.

Aw, I hope she starts getting better really soon! But please don't worry about school at all. I'm 16 and I was in the hospital for over 2 months straight this winter and missed more days of school than I cared to count--it will still be there when she gets back .

I don't know if I should post here since I'm a stepmom and not a real mom (although in our case there is no real mom, just me).
But yeah I hate when he is sick, i worry so much, even if it's just a cold or something little, I feel so bad. I baby him a lot anyway but I especially baby him when he's sick because I just hate to see him feeling so sick.
