I truly hate this waiting, not going till Feb 26th, but I feel like I'm constantly checking for something, I wish they would just say. or I get a pin code, or just say your time frame is not going to happen or it won't be released till dec, just give me a hint....:rotfl2:

I hear 'ya! We wanted to ger our spring break trip booked before the airfares went too high and I had to make decisions based on worst case scenario for our WDW package price. We ended up dropping 2 nights from our orginal plan (now going for just 5 nights) because that's what we are comfortable with assuming we end up paying rack rate. If we get a discount (here's hoping!!!) that'll be more money for mickey bars:rotfl:.

>>>>So what if a discount never comes????Will your vacation be ruined????Be thankful you are able to go at all. Why stress about something that may not happen.

I don;t think Disney is under any obligation to give you a hint.

I book a vacation at Disney because I want to go and I book what I can afford to pay for. If i get a discount, then good for me.....if I don;t, I know what to expect.

True, you are right, just hoping , thats all. We usally do a mod resort, however, this year is DD 21st birthday, and she has always wanted to do the AKL, so we did. All this means is, I might have to only funfill that wish of hers to a couple of days , than do a mod the rest of the week.

A CM said this week not to expect 2012 discounts until Oct. Take it FWIW. But I wouldn't expect 2012 this early. Even fall may not come out until the end of the month.

kath2me was actually quite nice to you in her response; if I had been the OP, I don't think I could have withheld my typing fingers so easily. I know that tone can be taken wrong when reading something rather than hearing the person say it; but with your punctuation, how can your post come off anything other than rude?

I'm waiting, too. Our trip is scheduled for October and although I can afford to pay rack rate (I've booked at such and the funds are already put aside), I am still seeking some sort of discount. I check everyday and I pop on to the DIS to see if anyone else has news. I am so excited for the people that are getting the PINs, but at the same time wonder why Disney is waiting until the 11th hour to release discounts for October. As kath2me indicated, it's frustrating for us.

Maybe not you. You're not feeling the frustration, but many of us are.

ya I thought that was a little abbrasive also, I was waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and now I'm kinda assuming its just not happening for me, I booked in March and that's that I cannot change my dates paid for airfare to move everything is more a pain than anything let alone the change in $ for flights with penalty is not worth it.

We can afford the package we've booked as well, but if a discount doesn't come out we will probably book something cheaper because we're....well....cheap :)

You know, I love the way some people come on this board and imply that somebody is basically taking their good fortune for granted if they DARE wish or hope for a discount and express frustration with the way discounts work.

We all know we are lucky for heaven's sake.

HOWEVER, this is not a board devoted to saving the world, its a board about Disney discounts. If we can't take a break from real life to talk about the ins and outs of Disney trip planning, then whats the point? We can all be judged in the real world so for those of you who wish to point out in a judgemental way what is wrong with our thought process on Disney matters, maybe take a minute to take a deep breath and chill out your response and make it sound helpful without a lecture. Because frankly, none of us need to be lectured.

OP, I am with a few others, you are a very nice person. I am also with you on the frustration waiting for discounts! I am still over 9 months out but always checking to see whats coming up for earlier dates since I feel like maybe that is an indication of what I can expect. We will still go to WDW but our resort and length of stay will be determined by what discounts are available. I'll have to book my airfare early on so I am so hoping Disney comes out with their discounts so I can at least know how long I am going for before I do that! It gets kind of stressful so I am right there with you and hope you find out something very soon!

It actually made me a little apprehensive in replying that I too am a little frustrated. Afterall, sharing our thoughts about discounts is what this forum is all about!

My thoughts exactly!!!! And I pop on multiple times a day at this point to check and see if any of you guys have heard anything. Trust me....I am WAY frustrated. I don't think Disney owes me anything, but when their values are even more expensive than a suite off property...guess what? They are over-pricing themselves and discounts are called for. I'm just frustrated because I expected something by now and not to have even a nibble is....is....well....it's frustrating.

And you two are so correct. We come on here to talk about Disney, vent to each other (because many of us are in the same boat), and help each other plan. But goodness forbid we actually whine or complain just a little, because then you get someone saying "well, maybe you just shouldn't go".

And you should never be apprehensive, but I know exactly how you feel. A lot of times I will not post for fear I will offend someone. I try and be as supportive as possible and understand where the other person is coming from if my opinion is different, but not everyone thinks like that.

UGH...sorry...I'll get off my soap box now.

Ok, I have to leave and go pick up DD for dinner and the Selena Gomez show. You all have a great afternoon!!!!!!

I am on the discount code and rate board because that is what I am looking for - a discount code or rate. If I didn't need one - I would for sure be lurking and commenting on threads someplace else !

I was also apprehensive about replying! I can afford my trip without the discount, and I will enjoy my trip without the discount!!! That doesn't mean I'm not still interested in saving a little money; who isn't looking for a good deal these days?
I am starting to lose hope for a fall discount though. Seems like a lot of people booked in the values are getting sweet upgrade deals to fill the mods/deluxe resorts, possibly to re-sell the values:confused3.

thank u all, i felt those words were a litte harsh also, i mean nothing can ruin a disney trip, that person must be in a way better position $$ than I, but I am always looking for a good disney deal and in spite of whatever I will continue to do so, again Thanks everyone

I'm with you OP. We work very hard and save for our Disney trips. We don't have many other vices except spoiling the grandkids. But we LOVE getting a good deal so that we can maximize our trip savings and spend more on dining, tshirts or whatever we want. I think getting a good deal actually is my "high" in life. That is why I too spend time every day reading these boards, planning and hoping for some magic and pixie dust. It's a much nicer way to spend our time than slamming others!:thumbsup2

Kathy, you are welcome. I understand the frustration. I can afford the vacation without the discount. Heck, I'll be in Disney....how bad can it really be? BUT.....I would like to feel better about getting a deal and not blowing all my hard-earned money on a room (I'd rather treat my family to souveniers or parasailing or something else other than just the room).

I'm glad I spoke up. I so rarely do (especially on these boards) because my opinions do differ a lot from other people and I get flamed. But I guess I was wearing my flame-retardant suit!!! :lmao:

You guys have a great day and let's keep our fingers crossed for those discounts (another thread mentioned they might not come out until September....UGH).

Yeah I thought that Post was a little snarky too.. OP I am right with you. I very much hate waiting on a discount too.

I check every day.. sometimes more then once to see if maybe a discount came out or if someone has heard anything. I am planning our trip based on if we can get some kind of special offer or not. Disney is wonderful and I want my kids to get the most out of it so I will plan when I can afford to give them the most!

Here is some pixie dust that something will come out soon!

Even if you can afford to pay rack rate... why would you? Anybody with any "travel sense" knows the prices are over inflated. There is nothing wrong with expecting a discount.

I agree! Rooms are way overpriced, I'm waiting for a discount before I book anything.
