Hate To Do It, But Have To Go Easter Break This Year.

We always pull my dd out of school for vacations to WDW and DCL, but since she is in 6th grade I am leary of it, so we have made ressies at SSR (first trip home yeah!) for 3/31 - 4/9. Do they do anything special for Easter for the kids? Baskets? Egg Hunts? Special Meals? We are excited to go, but are dreading the crowds (we are used to going in November, early Dec).

Went over Easter 2 years ago..the hotel had egg coloring and baskets for the kids to make. There was also an Egg Hunt at Epcot with the bunny and all!
We have trouble taking out oldest (entering senior in HS) out of school, thinking about a graduation party trip in June!

We went this year over the Easter break and were surprised that it was NOT as crowded as we'd thought it would be. I think it's much more crowded during the summer months. Also, there are Easter egg hunts in a few locations. The spring is a great time to go; you won't regret your decision to go during that week. Have fun!

We will be at SSR that week as well! It is our first Easter/Spring break trip too. I would have taken my daughter out of pre-k without much guilt but niece age 12 and nephew age 10 are going so had to pick a break week.

Crowds or more crowds we will still have a great time, and I'm sure you will too!

We were at the BW last year during Easter week and although it was more crowded than our usual October visits, my daughter started 1st grade and I won't pull her, it was not by any means unbearable. We actually booked the same week for 2007. I'd suggest taking advantage of the extra magic hours. We (DW, DD-6, DS-3) were able to do quite a bit by being one of the first in the park and beating alot of the crowds.

We are not early birds here in NY, but something "magical" happens in WDW - we are up at dawn and waiting to get into the parks LOL! We will take advantage of EMH, probably go to the pools in the afternoon, and back to parks for evening. We are so excited, I wish the trip was sooner. Friends of ours will be going too that week (at least they plan on it), and will be staying at Swan/Dolphin (She's a teacher).

SaratogaShan - maybe we'll bump into each other at SSR. This is our first trip "home" - what about you?

This will be trip number 5 to SSR . We keep saying we should try out all of the other resorts, but we can't tear ourselves away from HOME .

We always visit either the week before or the week after Easter (when it falls in April). OKW just feels like home for Easter now. Our first Easter stay was so memorable. Easter egg hunts, candy scramble, baskets and eggs for the kids. DS said it wouldn't feel like Easter if we weren't at OKW. We do avoid the parks on Easter Sunday however. We just get up early and enjoy the resort. It's crowded, but then again the only other time we visit is President's Week in February and a week in August. I don't know what we would do if we went during a non-busy time!
